How having an understanding of tree biology is key to developing a skill of Tree Risk Assessment
We need to know how tree parts function to support the structural stability of a tree.
By taking time to better understand how the biological functions and parts of a tree work to structurally support the tree, we can more reliably identify defects within the tree that pose a level of risk to its structural integrity, and understand why.
As an arborist, building this foundational knowledge is essential as you will use it in your practice everyday. In our world of Utility Forestry, you must be able to reliably back all of your tree risk assessments using these foundational concepts. Through time and practice, your confidence in the art and skill of your ability to deliver and present your conclusions of a tree risk assessment to both the customer and the UVM Managers will increase.
You - all have the ability to become respected professional arborists.
Take care and keep looking up!
