Going too light or too heavy too often both can ruin your progression. 

Your body must be able to recover from the previous training day or week otherwise it won't be able to adapt. Also, you need to give the stimulus for the change regularly. 


I talked about how important is to wave the load in your year-month-week-day of training to be able to progress. Also how important to nourish your body with nutrient-dense foods and not eating empty calories. These two things only can really help you progress in physical development. 


???What doesn't help????

Max out regularly on your sessions


When your ego, plan or PT says so, you might find yourself doing bad repetitions from an exercise, then throw up at the end, or pee yourself during a lift. These are unhealthy habits that are actually killing your progress. 


?? What could this cause in the future?

? Torn muscles or ligaments

? Broken bones

? Brain damage

? Damaged teeth

? Incontinence

...etc


?????? All these things are not right, puking and peeing yourself is not normal, and not welcome during your training. These things are the signs that you are working out that hard your body can't keep up with removing the garbage built up in you from training. You are basically destroying your cells, shortening your life.

?? What you can do to avoid this?

?? Only train on your level, when you can actually receive and understand the feedback from your body during the exercise. (If you can't feel when your lower back is flexing in a squat, you are doing it too fast, too heavy)

?? Never reach technical failure, keep your technique over 8 on a 10 scale. (Remember the Scott Sonnon TED scale? Link in the comments) 

?? Keep some reps in the bank

?? Also be ready to say no if someone asks you to go against common sense

?Aha and keeping all your training too easy all time will keep your week and unprepared. That's also dangerous.?
