How hard is it to become a pilot?

Until the day one becomes a pilot there are many steps to take.

Being a commercial or airline pilot is a challenging and demanding profession, but also rewarding. Pilots have many opportunities to travel and fulfill their passion to fly a large aircraft. However, theoretical and practical training have norms and standards that need to be achieved so they can graduate with the highest qualifications and the necessary knowledge.

Besides other duties, on a normal flight, the pilot must:

• control the flight scheduled, check the fuel and also check the weather before taking-off,
• monitor the airplane's systems and movements,
• pilot the aircraft using cockpit instruments and resources,
• keep passengers out of possible dangers,
• others.

In order to do this, one must complete pilot training in one of two ways:

- Integrated ATPL: a continuous study, possible to complete in a defined period of time, starting from scratch,

-Modular ATPL: acquisition of the license by carrying out several steps, starting with the PPL: Private Pilot license and evolving by taking other modules according to personal and financial possibilities.

To be able to enter a pilot course it is necessary to have the high school education or higher. It is not necessary to have specific courses or conduct entrance exams, but knowledge in the areas is always an asset.

The pilot course is demanding and requires a lot of dedication from the students.?

Although at IFA, students can start flying from their 6th month after the starting the course, the theoretical component requires continuous concentration and in-depth study of the subjects as they have to pass very demanding written exams. In addition to the approximately 800 hours of classes they have in about 12 months, students have to study in their own time in order to obtain the best results.

Depending on the professional goals of each one, some airlines demand the best grades and look for pilots with excellent qualifications.
