How to handle stress?

"Happiness is a choice. You can choose to be happy. There's going to be stress in life, but it's your choice whether you let it affect you or not- Valerie Bertinelli "

Gaur Gopal Das insights inspired to write following article.

We can divide stress into 3 categories.

1.  Work

2.  Others (People and Relationships)

3.  Self (Personal Perception)

1. Work Stress

Work will not give the stress; it is the wrong job that gives stress. Even if it is a wrong job, it still foots the bill. Hence we are forced to continue at the same job until we find another one.

How can we overcome stress at work?

1.  If you're stuck with a wrong job, try to find out what you really enjoy doing at work. Find out that one element that you like at work and focus on that one element.

2.   Also, discover one thing that you like to do apart from work in your life; it can be music, sports, art, etc.

2. Stress because of Others (Relationships & People)

We always have expectations in relationships that are good and healthy. However when the expectations are unrealistic that may create stressful relationships. Following are the 4 principles to overcome stress in relationship. These are called 4Cs principles.

4Cs Principles

1.  Change the frequency of your mind: Be positive and have the right vibes. How radio works? If we tune into 99.9MHz frequency, we receive same frequency. Same in life as well. What frequency we tune into and what vibes we hold, the same we get back from another person as well. So, keep positive frequency. Always remember one thing, you cannot change people around you, however you can change the frequency of your mind.

2.  Communication: Communicate with others and find out what is bothering you? How is it bothering you? Why is it bothering you? What can you do to improve your relationship? If you can’t communicate with that person directly, take the help of a mediator. Open communication is very important for a healthy relationship.

3.  Consume yourself something bigger. Pursue your passion that drives you and spend time on that. This will help you to divert from stress.

4.  Cut off and move away for a while. Take a break from that person. Come back with positive energy to stay connected.

 3. Self (Personal Perception)

Stress from personal life is based on how you perceive others behaviour and action. If you think too much about what the others are talking about you, you’re going to have a hard time. Remember one thing: water helps boat to sail and the same water lets the boat sink if there is a hole in the boat.

The following guiding principles can help you overcome this:

1.  Get a mentor who can navigate your thoughts.

2.  Do Sadhana or Mindfulness - Sadhana is the discipline of routine spiritual practice and routine surrendering of the ego through activities such as meditation, yoga, chanting or prayer.

Stay Positive, Stay Blessed. Life is good!!!
