How To Handle Stress During Study MBBS Abroad
Introduction:
Can you believe that more than half of students studying MBBS abroad feel stressed and anxious? It's true! Medical school is really tough, both mentally and physically. You might have to study all day and night, work night shifts, and not get many breaks. But all of these sacrifices are worth it when you get to help people and make them better one day.
Let me tell you one thing, You're not alone in this journey. Even though some students may not express it openly, one out of every five students experiences stress. With the right support and coping mechanisms, overcoming this challenge is possible. Remember, it's not a stigma to talk about your feelings or seek help.
So, in this blog let's see some of the ways how to handle stress during study MBBS journey.?
Connect with friends:
One of the most effective methods of handling stress while studying MBBS abroad is connecting with friends.?
Trust me no one can lift your mood more than your friends, I need not say this. Call away your friends even when you are far away from them. They can lift your mood no matter what.?
Also to deviate yourself you can also connect them through online games available and play, it doesn’t matter which place you are from. Technology has filled the gap between us with real-world communication.?
Get proper sleep:
If you've noticed, getting enough sleep can actually help with a lot of mental health issues. Making sure you have time for good sleep can make dealing with other things easier.?
Your entire sleep cycle could be messed up due to your schedule, For example, if you're studying late into the night or doing internships overnight.
My suggestion is to make sure you get a solid 9 hours of sleep each night, allowing yourself to unwind completely. It would be like a free therapy session for your mind.
Take care of yourself:
What really helped me during my college days to manage stress was taking genuine care of myself. I made sure to prioritize my own well-being above anything else that could help me relax, and I focused on keeping my mind clear.
Whether it's skincare, taking a course you enjoy, gardening, traveling, or shopping, find what brings you joy. For me, it's always shopping. Understand your interests and make time for them. Ultimately take care of yourself. At the end of the day, you must be happy that’s what matters.?
Make a routine:
Prepare a daily routine for yourself, listing out your activities from morning until bedtime. At first, sticking to the plan might be challenging. Later on, with time and practice, it will become much easier to follow.
The main thing about having a routine is that it keeps you busy and ensures your day goes smoothly without any chaos. While you might miss the plan for a day or two, eventually, you'll find yourself falling back into the routine.?
Take note of even the simplest tasks and incorporate them into your daily schedule.

Plan for a trip:
“Pack your bags let's go for a trip!” Hearing these words at the end of the day is all you want, right?
Even if you can't manage to go on a trip often, you can still treat yourself by planning one. Since you're in a new country, take the opportunity to explore the city and break away from your usual routine.
Traveling brings a sense of lightness and connects you with new people. Meeting individuals from different cultures and learning about their way of life can be interesting and enriching.
Be physically active:
Being active physically can also lift your mood. Whether you’re involved in playing games it might be indoors or outdoors might give you a refreshing feeling.?
Or try to hit the gym and engage in physical activity can help strengthen both your body and mind.
If possible, develop a habit of taking a walk every morning to kickstart your day with freshness. If you miss the morning walk, aim to go for a stroll in the evening instead. The thing is to avoid idleness by staying occupied with activities throughout the day.
Start a journal:
For those who find it difficult to express their feelings verbally, starting a journal can be a helpful method.?
Writing down your emotions, whether in prose, poetry, or letters, provides a personal way to express yourself.
Journaling can deepen emotional connections in ways that words alone might not achieve. Once you start, you'll understand the impact. Expressing emotions through writing allows them to flow more freely from within you.
Seek professional help:
If despite your efforts, managing stress remains challenging, consider reaching out to a professional who specializes in helping individuals overcome these difficulties. Seeking assistance from a qualified professional should be considered as a final option for those requiring support.
Conclusion:
Effectively managing stress involves constructively expressing emotions. By mastering stress management techniques, you can conquer these challenges. Don't hesitate to reach out to others for support when needed. Also, adhere to the aforementioned steps to effectively to handle stress while studying MBBS abroad.?
