How to handle Rejection

How to handle Rejection

All of us in one point in time in some form got the taste of being rejected in some form/platform/ situation or instance. Feeling rejected is the opposite of feeling accepted. Rejection means that one time, in one situation, with one person, things didn't work out. Is it really feel bad to get rejected ????? The sure short answer is Yes it feel bad to get rejected, however the scale and magnitude differ from person to person. The better we get at dealing with rejection, the less it affects us. So how one can  build that ability to cope?

psychotherapist and counselors suggest following steps to counter Rejection in a healthy way.

A. Emotional Collaboration: Talk it out to a friend or loved one as It can be reassuring to know that someone understands what you're going through and how it feels and 2) It forces you to put your feelings into words.

B.  It is ok to be Rejected and it is part of the game, it means you are trying. Winning and losing are the part of the same coin. When ever one tries something either there is win. Appreciation and rewards or if not then learning experience for sure.

C.     Say No to your Inner critic.: stop overthinking: Don’t drag yourself further down by listening to your inner critic. At time when one doesn’t succeed, inner self keeps on telling that this is not for you, you can not do it.one need to immediately stop thinking that way. Let’s not your Heart lose the battle

D.    Don't think it's all about you: The other person may simply be looking for something or someone else than you. People have different aspirations, taste and requirements, so maybe you get rejected because he is simply not looking for your attribute at that point in time. Needs plays an important role in rejection, may be you are not pat of that requirement package.

E. Be constructive and focus on what you can learn: Every Rejection be it personal or professional give scope for constructive introspective analysis, focusing on one’s strength and areas of improvements, just focus on them and build the attributes and competencies required.

F. Rejection is Always temporary, not permanent (if you keep going). World is full of opportunities and options. There is always something better waiting out there so never lose hope and keep on trying.

G.    Keep going: The get going spirit, the power of persuasion makes an individual a winner.Keep on chasing your dreams ,logically plan your action plans , keep on trying keep on exploring your options and emerge as a winner that you are.
