During the pandemic, we all experienced meeting inflation that stuck around. Now teams are left with a myriad of recurring meetings without ever establishing clear protocols, deliberate cadence structures, or addressing the factors that trap us in unproductive patterns. Some leaders have yet to correct this uptick in meetings for fear of missing out on something important.

Research has shown that meetings are closely linked to employee satisfaction. In fact,?one study found?that when meetings were reduced by 80 percent, stress dropped by over 60 percent, and feeling micromanaged dropped by almost 75 percent.
