How the GSE Future of Work Bootcamp Successfully Trained Remote Work Professionals for the Future

This pandemic has created the world's largest future of work experiment in real time. From layoffs to massive job swaps- everyone is either on the front lines of the pandemic or at home remotely working. Such a drastic change was truly unprecedented. The core mission of the Global Startup Ecosystem, is to prepare individuals and institutions for the digital age. Thus, a training series on the Future of Work was a crucial agenda item to provide our global community.

Many stakeholders are also hosting webinars, summits and virtual programs on remote work. Yet we thought it best to avoid the hype and focus on practical training. We successfully executed this goal thanks to three main reasons:

  1. The curriculum supported multiple stakeholders. Everyone is affected by the current remote work transition and our 6 hour bootcamp covered a variety of resources, strategies and action items needed for individuals who need to optimize themselves for remote work, for institutions who need to manage a remote workforce and for implementers - ecosystem enablers who are drivers for Future of Work culture shifts.
  2. An experienced partner line up. We have over 600+ speakers in our GSE ecosystem but there are a select few that truly monitor and live the future of work trends that are impacting professionals around the world. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the NYU Global Office of Inclusion, we were able to make the live program free and accessible to young professionals from 40+ countries. We targeted 9 of our best corporate networks who have a mandate for workforce empowerment- such as YMCA, Facebook, Linkedin, Google. Forbes and the New York University Global Office of Diversity and Inclusion to also provide presentations during the program.
  3. Have a follow up call to action. Many of the participants were selected to participate. We selected 300 out of 1020+ rsvp who will undergo further training and granted access to our GSE Recruit series. GSE Recruit is the recruitment agency arm of the Global Startup Ecosystem to train and connect talent to remote work.
