How to Grow Your B2B Subscriber List

How to Grow Your B2B Subscriber List

If you’re a B2B marketer, providing a newsletter sign-up button on your website is only the first step to building your subscriber list. Branching out and making sure you’ve got visibility in the marketplace will help you grow that list more quickly.

Following are some tips about how to get the right kind of attention.

Format your signature

When you’re exchanging emails with someone outside the company, capitalize on that opportunity by including an email sign-up link in your signature. If you’re the point of contact for product inquiries, make sure the text in or around the sign-up link would be relevant to potential customers, for example, “Find out about special offers.”

Use your blog

At the end of posts on your company blog, include a newsletter sign-up button. Again, the language should be relevant, and this time, targeted at people who are interested in information, but who aren’t necessarily interested in buying anything from you (yet). Use language like, “Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends”–something that appeals to a person’s need to know.

Promote on LinkedIn

If you don’t already have a company LinkedIn page, create one. Ask your employees or team members to put a link to the company newsletter in their bio–and if anyone with your company is blogging on LinkedIn, ask them to include the link in their author bio.

Write for other websites

Writing a blog post or article for another website can help you broaden your audience. A strong, relevant topic that keeps readers hooked until the final word is a natural lead-in to promoting your newsletter. Put a link in your author bio, and tell people to sign up to receive content similar to what they just read.

Tease a good story

Write something for your newsletter that people will want to see, and then promote that content via your social media profiles. In the B2B world, you can’t go wrong with content about saving money or the latest trends. Summarize the article and share that summary, along with a newsletter sign-up link people can click to get access to the full story.

Run a promotion

Who doesn’t love a freebie or a great deal? Come up with a limited-time special offer and announce on your website and social media profiles that people who sign up for the newsletter have a chance to win. Once you name a winner, write up a little blurb about that for your newsletter.

Building a B2B subscriber list requires a multi-faceted approach, but once you make yourself visible to the right audience, you’ll be better positioned to connect with people. If you need some pointers on how to create more conversations with your audience, call Delivra today.
