How to grow & Make money on LinkedIn

Good morning favs! I hope you're all doing well. It's been a while—how have you been? I've been okay, just stepped back from a few things. We clocked 50k subscribers a few days ago, and I can't thank you enough. I stopped sharing here because y'all break my heart. You send me awesome DMs about the nuggets I share, but reactions say a different story. So, I've been focusing on other things (but I still love y'all).

Gone are the days when brands were JUST partnering with celebrities and Instagram personalities. You can build your little dream. This is for my corporate LinkedIn folks who enjoy content creation but find TikTok too noisy. If you enjoy creating content focused on the corporate world and aspire to work with brands, this is for you.

Learn a skill

There are plenty of skills you can learn and make money from. For example, if you are an unemployed administrator but have Wi-Fi at home, why aren't you USING your skills? Start by optimizing your profile and boldly state that you're a virtual administrator. When I click on your profile, I should immediately know that Zanele is a virtual administrator. In your banner, list the services you offer, such as minute-taking, bookkeeping, scheduling meetings, and more. Then, share your journey as an administrator, including your experiences and challenges. When people see your name, they should immediately associate you with ADMINISTRATION. Over time, as people see that you're actually good at administration, they'll begin to inquire about your services.

Content Creation

This is similar to what I just mentioned. Many people are hesitant to create content on LinkedIn, either because they're afraid or don't know where to begin. For example, if you're in the legal field, start by sharing what you know. Then, reach out to law firms and propose collaborations. You can promote their work on the platform in exchange for the bag or their services. Voilà, you've earned some extra cash as a student.

However, keep in mind that this is a professional platform, so you need to be strategic about the brands you want to work with. For example, I'm interested to work with Makro South Africa, Christian Dior Couture, International Labour Organization, Momentum, The Coca-Cola Company, Red Bull, University of Cape Town & Woolworths. First, Makro South Africa , because I buy my corporate things there—my work backpack, laptop, smartwatch, and phone—items that many people on this platform can relate to. These are products I use daily and can personally vouch for.

Second is UCT x GetSmarter , where I studied my brand management course. I have firsthand experience with the institution, which makes it easy for me to respond to questions. People frequently ask me about my experience there. These are brands I’m passionate about and that fit well with this platform, making them perfect for the partnerships I'm aiming for.

Remember, consistency is KEY. Be prepared to start small while keeping your sights on bigger goals. And here's the great part: once you've established yourself as a virtual administrator, you can also collaborate with brands that you use daily in your work.

Annnnnd you know what? LinkedIn supports this as you can include your services on your profile.
