How To Grow a Great Your Tennis Club in 2024.

How To Grow a Great Your Tennis Club in 2024.

If you study the best clubs in the world you will find a few commonalities in all of them.

You can then take those same commonalities and implement them into your club and build a great tennis club this year.

Or at least you can.

Build the foundation for growing one in the future.

I mean.

That does make sense, right?

Listen.

In my studies of these great clubs.

I have discovered that they all have 3 key factors that led to their success.

One.

They all gave great service.

In this economy that we are living in, it has gone from average to below average in the service industry, and in some places, it's just plain unacceptable.

Which is why.

You want to take the service that you are giving to your present members to another level and fall in love with them.

Retrain your whole staff if you have to, whether it be with meetings and greetings, how they are answering the phone, or dealing with daily issues.

Have weekly training sessions with them.

The thing about training them is this.

Don't make it a here-or-there thing, make it a daily requirement to have a lasting effect on their productivity.

Bring in experts too.

Two.

Give great lessons.

Only hire the best coaches.

You should have coaches who specialize in teaching different groups.

Meaning.

Some coaches are great with kids, others do better with juniors, and some coaches prefer teaching adults.

Find coaches who can teach these certain groups, and then demand that they give great lessons ALL THE TIME.

By having the students give lesson feedback regularly.

I don't know why more clubs don't do this, either.

We did it at Tarumi, and it helped us keep full retention of all our members.

Because.

We listened to them and kept giving them what they wanted and less of what they didn't want.

It's pretty simple, but it is also very powerful, and most clubs still don't do it.

Three.

Only hire great people.

I got this tip from my first manager at Nishinonmiya.

He would only hire people with a great attitude and people who had high morals and character.

Saying that.

You can never build a great club around negative people.

It's so true.

Just look at some of the worst clubs that you have been to in the past, the one thing that they all have in common is this.

The owner made the big mistake of hiring NEGATIVE people!

One more thing that he did was… only hire through friends and family.

This is important because you will already know what you are getting by hiring this way in advance.

Another thing that you should do is… always look for skillful people with a great attitude to join your team.

Anyway.

Those are the 3 key elements to building a great tennis club in 2024.

Last tip.

Constantly research other successful companies outside the tennis industry and look to use their proven systems and processes to grow a successful club.

Because.

You can use them in an adaption way to grow your club even faster.

Look to tap into your creativity when doing this exercise and help foster one at your club as well!
