Are you feeling stuck in your career? Do you want to make a change but don’t know where to start? If you answered yes, then group career coaching may be the solution you need. Group career coaching provides individuals with the opportunity to work with a professional coach and peers in a supportive environment. In this article I will share my experience, resources, and a unique opportunity to?join a group coaching session .
REALIZE
I’ve come to?realize?that this saying is true for me, I can’t keep doing the same things and expect a different outcome. Before I understood the importance of career development, I didn’t give myself a chance to explore. Once I?realized?the value of investing in myself, I began to participate in a lot of activities that supported my development.
One of the activities was group career coaching, which led to enhancing my performance and building a network of colleagues I can still call on today. However, the idea to participate in group coaching was not my first choice. My manager recommended it, and I figured what did I have to lose. Well, to my surprise, it turned out better than I expected and I instantly became a fan. I found that once you get past the shyness of meeting new people and working on yourself in a cohort of your peers, everyone wins. We all shared our concerns, learned from each other, and built a bond that may last a lifetime.
When you think about your career, what challenges are you encountering ? Have you?realized?that you need help to overcome whatever is hindering your progress? As you review your career goals, did they change over time? Are you now?realizing?that a career pivot or transition is the best path forward? We all come to the proverbial fork in the road at some point. The?realization?that you need a new solution to achieve your career aspirations is not a novel idea. Hence the saying, you can’t keep doing the same things and expect something different to occur.
REASONS
If you want to try a new approach to achieving your career goals, here are some of the reasons why group career coaching may work for you:
Support and accountability
Group career coaching provides a supportive environment where individuals can share their challenges and goals with others who are going through similar experiences. This helps create a sense of community and accountability, which is crucial when it comes to achieving career goals. Through regular meetings and check-ins, participants can hold each other accountable and provide support when needed.
Diverse perspectives
In a group career coaching setting, participants can gain diverse perspectives on their career goals and challenges. This is because group coaching brings together individuals from various backgrounds, industries, and levels of experience. These diverse perspectives can help one gain new insights, ideas, and strategies that they may not have considered before.
Cost-effective
Group career coaching is often more cost-effective than one-on-one coaching. This is because the cost of the coach’s time and materials are spread across multiple participants, making it a more affordable option for those who may not have the budget for individual coaching sessions.

By networking with peers, individuals can gain new insights into different industries and potential job opportunities.
Increased self-awareness
Group career coaching can help you gain a deeper understanding of your strengths, weaknesses, and values. This increased self-awareness can be invaluable when it comes to making career decisions and setting goals. By understanding your strengths and values, you can make more informed career choices and pursue opportunities that align with your passions and interests.
With group career coaching, you gain the support, accountability, and diverse perspectives you need to achieve your career goals. With its cost-effectiveness, networking opportunities, and increased self-awareness, group career coaching could be the boost your career needs.
RESOURCES
If group coaching sounds like a solution that interests you, here are some areas that come into play during the process: self-awareness, networking, diverse perspectives, and accountability partnership.?Check out these resources and a unique opportunity to join a group coaching session:
Developing Self Awareness : “While self-awareness is central to who you are, it is not something you are acutely focused on at every moment of every day. Instead, self-awareness becomes woven into the fabric of who you are and emerges at different points depending on the situation. This knowledge is imperative as you plan your career goals.”
What is “networking” and why is it so important : “Why is networking so important? Building connections with the right people at the right time could be the key to taking your career to the next level.”
How Diverse Perspectives Makes Us Smarter : “Diversity enhances creativity. It encourages the search for novel information and perspectives, leading to better decision-making and problem-solving. Diversity can improve the bottom line of companies and lead to unfettered discoveries and breakthrough innovations. Even simply being exposed to diversity can change the way you think.”
How to have an effective accountability partner : This article explores accountability partnerships, the benefits of having an accountability partner and tips for maintaining an effective partnership.
Mastering Change with Group Coaching : Whether you’re in between jobs, experiencing corporate restructure or dealing with change in your personal life, it can be unsettling. Here is an opportunity to engage with executive coaches?Rebecca Josephson ?and?Jane Sendall . You’ll leverage their combined 45+ years of experience as business leaders and coaches to more effectively lead yourself and others through transition; emerging more focused, connected and resilient.
PRO TIP: If you use this solution, make a plan for how you will put what you are learning into action.?Just like any training or course you enroll in, afterwards you have to apply the skills and tools to see the change. I always tell people that the real work starts after the course and not during. Most times people think that the act of training is the solution, but it’s actually the beginning of the work required to make an impact.
