We need #greatmen to be as big as #metoo .... I totally get #metoo ... I've been there; I know ... but I am so amazed, uplifted, in awe of, thankful for, and impressed with far more GREAT MEN with whom I work, live, partner with etc ... we need an equally powerful movement showcasing the men who are literally heroes ... who decide that they will not allow harrassment to happen to women, who stand up for women whenever it is clear that they are not being listened to because of their gender, and who take the bullets, create new narratives about female leadership, who showcase women instead of being jealous of them… small men want to destroy women in order to make themselves feel better…. #GreatMen lift them up, encourage, enjoy, partner with women…..I am so lucky that my life is full of #GreatMen … time to shift from #metoo to #GreatMen… the #GreatMen will take care of the bastards faster ….. their sex, and who take the bullets, create new narratives about female leadership, who showcase women instead of being jealous of them ... small men want to destroy women ... GREAT MEN lift them up, encourage, enjoy, partner with women ... I am so lucky that my life is full of #greatmen .... time to shift from #metoo to #greatmen ... the #greatmen will take care of the bastards faster.... or as someone said to me the other day, the mouse becomes the cat ...

6 年Yes--agree--great post--we need both--everyone benefits from a safer space for women (and men) and everyone is responsible for creating that environment.?? I have seen far too much workplace harassment and abuse of power leading to corruption and toxic work environments.? In the end it always compromises the mission and hurts everyone (the harassed, usually women, are not the only victims).?? Men have a big role to play in setting new norms and intervening when necessary--bad apples (or is it bushels of bad apples?) are definitely out there but thankfully the culture of impunity is shifting. On the other side, need help from women as well to ensure that #MeToo?is not hijacked by some unscrupulous women for personal agendas.? Have seen that firsthand as well.? Human behavior is far more complex than the headlines! Keep going!
