How to Get Your Service Mojo Back (and Get a Free Gift)

Has your intention to serve seemingly morphed into a capitulation to servitude?

?

If so, you may have “fix-it syndrome” or “malignant helping syndrome”.

?

The good news is you are not alone. In fact, these syndromes are at the root of the epidemic of burn-out, compassion fatigue, exhaustion and overwhelm among professional care or service providers.

?

The better news is with an accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment, these syndromes are reversible and the long-term prognosis excellent! Read on to learn more.

?

Let’s start with a little background.

?

There are 3 ways that care providers or people with high levels of caregiving energy tend to show up: in fix-it mode, helping mode or service mode.

?

Why does this matter? It matters because fix-it and helping modes are not sustainable. While they may have some advantages in the short run, ultimately, they will drain your energy and if left unchecked, will chip away at your own wellbeing, squash your potential, and diminish yourself and those around you.

?

Service mode, on the other hand, is energy-generating.

?

People with a service orientation view themselves and those they serve as whole and equal partners. For them, service is a calling, a privilege, and an expression of who they are. They are filled with a sense of purpose, compassion for self and others, gratitude, and serenity.

?

The first step in your journey (back) to service mode is to know where you are now—in fix-it or helping mode. Toward that end, I have developed a tool, The Care Provider Orientation Assessment.

?

The manual with the Care Provider Orientation Assessment tool and tips for achieving (or reclaiming) and maintaining a service orientation is my gift to you-- an indication of the compassion, respect and gratitude I have for you and the work you do.

I welcome your thoughts on the tool or techniques or strategies you use to keep yourself in service mode, if you feel inclined to share.
