How to Get Your Remote Team to Work

How to Get Your Remote Team to Work

3 steps to get your team to work

Have you ever thought, as a leader, ”Hey, how do I actually get my team to work?”

Well, I'm going to share with you 3 steps to do that. This is especially important if your team is remote and you don't actually get to see them every day in the office to even know that they're actually working.

So, try these 3 steps and you will feel more comfortable, more at ease and more confident that your team is getting the key work done.

1: Clarify their top priority.

This is really important because you don't necessarily know what your team may be working on at any moment.

So, make sure it's crystal clear what the top priorities are for them, the team and the broader organization.

2: Ask for their commitment.

This is really really important because just because you clarify the top priority for them, it doesn't mean they're actually committed to start working on it.

So, physically ask them. Say “Are you committed to accomplishing these priorities by the deadline?”

3: Show them and tell them what commitment actually looks like.

How long they're going to be working on this? How early they’re online? How long they're going to be focused?

And then demonstrate it as a leader because it's always much more powerful to show commitment then just tell what commitment looks like.
