How To Get Your Message Heard
Most entrepreneurs want their message heard. They want to be valued and recognized as a leader in their industry.
And rightfully so.
The people who put time, thought and effort into their message are the ones we should ALL be listening to. They are the ones we should ALL value and recognize.
Not the keyboard warriors publishing impulsive snark.
The problem is, too many experts with genuine purpose behind their message are struggling to get traction.
They're posting on social (all of them). They're publishing an email newsletter (some have two!). They've even published a book (with five star reviews).
Yet, it's silence. The phone isn't ringing. Their pipeline is empty. Despair is setting in.
We spend too much time mastering our craft to have our work fall on deaf ears (or no ears at all!).
Spreading your messaging should be fun and fulfilling. It should fill you up and energize your life. It should feel electric.
The problem is how some people present their message.
The message that catches on and inspires a movement, does it because it paints a picture of a better tomorrow.
It doesn't drag people down with anger and despair. It lifts them up with hope and inspiration.
I spent an hour studying MLK's "I Have A Dream" speech this week. Went through it line by line.

It's a great read for anyone looking for an example of how to inspire a movement.
In the speech, he talks about pain. He points to injustice. He alludes to his anger. But he does it all through the lens of HOPE. The overwhelming theme of his message is that of a brighter tomorrow.
It's not just MLK who figured this out, either.
If you look at the winning presidential campaigns of the last 20 years, you'll see that the candidate who won, won because they had a message that created HOPE for the future.
And so, if you want your message to catch on, take a lesson from MLK.
Inspire hope.
Lift people up by painting a picture of a brighter tomorrow, because the stakes are too high for the best to go ignored.
Ask yourself, "what does the picture of a brighter tomorrow look like to me?"
Answer that. Then put it EVERYWHERE.

P.S. This is important because the ideas that spread will shape who we become as a society. If the best ideas go ignored, they won't play a role in how the future unfolds.
P.P.S. This is a core element of eminent advertising. It's why the purpose-driven entrepreneurs we work with are able to consistently produce outsized returns.
