How To Get Your Business Ranked On Google With Videos

In this article, I’m going to walk you through how to get your business ranked on Google with videos.

Now we all know how hard it is to get your business ranked on page 1 of Google.

There’s just so much competition out there right now, it’s really, really difficult.?

A lot of people default to posting blog content on their website to get ranked.

And although this can be a great way to get ranked, it might not be in your best interest for a few reasons.

Firstly, the sheer amount of competition makes this very challenging.?

When there are over 4 million blog articles published on the Internet every day, this means you need to be a real whizz with Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) or get really, really lucky.

Second, if we’re trying to get your business ranked, then you have to understand that your blog content is competing against mass media.

Most of the time when you search for information, the top results are almost always big content marketing websites like Forbes, inc or some form of media to that degree.

These companies are built on the amount of written content that they publish on the Internet every day.

So if you’re planning to write a 1,000-word article anytime soon and expect it to go viral or be found in search, you’re dreaming.

That’s not to say it can’t be done, but it’s really tough, because of the competition.

This brings me to my next point - you really need to understand what your ideal customers are searching for, look at trends, and then add those long-tail keywords into your written content.

This requires some kind of understanding of SEO best principles and practices, and if you’re a business owner, you probably don’t have the time to invest in learning all of that stuff so you’ll default to paying an SEO agency to do it all for you.

Here’s the problem with that - you’ll be locked into a contract forever because the Google algorithm changes so often!

This means you’re gonna be paying an SEO agency to work tirelessly for weeks, months, maybe even years to not ONLY get your content ranked in the first place - but to keep it there!

All of these things combined make it really tough to get your business ranked on Google.

Competition - Mass Media - SEO Expertise - Algorithm Changes

So in knowing all of this, how can you get your business ranked on Google Search?

Well, I’m gonna share exactly how you can do that, without having to worry about competition, mass media, SEO expertise, OR algorithm changes.

And it all comes down to video marketing.

You see, Google is now displaying videos amongst its top search results.

But not only that, remember how I JUST SAID the algorithm changes so often?

Well, Google’s algorithm changed recently putting a priority on websites with VIDEOS.

This means, as you market your business, you can't ignore the importance of video -- at least if you want to rank highly in search results.?

If you’re trying to show up on the first page of Google, then adding video content will help you get ranked faster than any other method or strategy out there.

So let’s say you have a blog already, there’s a very simple adjustment you can make to improve its search ranking.

Buy a microphone, record yourself reading the blog article, turn that audio into a video, upload it to a YouTube channel, and then embed that video on the same page as your blog article.

This will boost the search traffic almost overnight.?

But what if you don’t have a blog already, or you want to move away from the whole blogging process entirely?

Well, that’s exactly why you should consider uploading videos to a YouTube channel made for your business.

You see with every video you upload to YouTube you can add links in the description, which not only sends traffic to your website but helps you get ranked in search - as each one of those links gets counted as a backlink.

Backlinks are links from one website to a page on another website.?

Google and other major search engines consider backlinks “votes” for a specific page - so pages with a high number of backlinks will have high organic search engine rankings.?

The more backlinks your business has, the more searchable your business becomes - and since Google and YouTube are both owned by the same company, Alphabet, your video content will be prioritized.

I’ve included a variety of backlinks to different parts of my website as well as to other YouTube videos - adding to the search ranking of each video, as well as my website.?

Now of course, including backlinks in your YouTube videos isn’t the only way to get your business ranked on Google.

You also need to include keywords in the headline, description, and tags for every video you upload to YouTube - which adds to your search ranking.?

To increase the chances of your videos ranking on Google, you need to look for topics and keywords with high traffic potential.

But you also want to improve the user experience for each video.?

Google aims to offer searchers the best result.

So when the dwell time on your video is high, it signifies to the algorithm that your video is valuable.?

Google will reward the video by increasing its ranking.

Now, remember when I said if you have a blog already you can just record yourself reading the article and turn that into a video?

Let’s say you’re starting from scratch and you don’t have a blog.

You can script your videos word-for-word and do the same thing I mentioned earlier, but instead of just uploading your videos to YouTube you can increase your search ranking by embedding your videos into LinkedIn articles, along with the video transcript.

When you publish articles to LinkedIn, all of your connections will receive a notification - and those articles can get found in search.?

So those are just a few ways to get your business ranked on Google.
