How to get Your Business Going Again?
There are many techniques that one can use to get a stuck car out of the snow - almost as many as there are tips and tricks about getting your business finally going. Realistically, there are a few basic principles in both of these scenarios that have been presented in a variety of curious and creative ways, but the main idea always stays the same. I’ve picked my favorite three techniques and I’ll compare them to useful principles in business.
1. Turn off traction control.
Traction control is a system inside the car’s computers that senses when the wheels have least grip and cut down the power. It is an excellent thing to have in normal conditions because it allows you to drive through rain and snow without much thought about grip. However, when you get stuck, you have to rely on your own foot and flexibility. In business, it is great to have systems and habits in place that keep your business going at a usual pace. However, if you noticed that you got stuck in business and the actions that you are used to taking aren’t getting you out of the rut, it is time to change some things. Behavioral changes will lead to breakthroughs.
2. Keep the steering wheel straight
When a car is stuck in snow or mud, one of the worst things you can do is keep the accelerator on and try to steer. You end up digging a deeper and wider hole. What you need to do is keep your steering wheel straight and inch yourself forward. When starting a business, people are often enthusiastic and have a lot of energy. They try selling a product or service that doesn’t seem to work, so they then shift to something different. That happens multiple times and, before you know it, they are worn out and haven’t moved at all. To get out of this hole, you need to select a product or service that you can deliver on and work at it step by step until you are successful.
3. Put chains on
The safest way to drive around in the snow is, of course, with tire chains. Even if you do get stuck, you can follow the first two steps and move forward with a lot less effort. The business equivalent to this is acquiring new information and training. If you are weak in certain areas, you will most definitely slip up in them. Once you do slip, you will need to spend a lot of careful effort to get back on your feet. A very wise thing to do in this situation is to identify your weaknesses early on and start to eradicate them. If it’s a seasonal product/service, then maybe build a cash reserve; if your enemy is procrastination and a lack of motivation, then draw out your vision and create a physical “productivity” environment which you will enter into when it’s time to work; if it’s a lack of knowledge, do some research and go through trainings.
These three suggestions will help you get a grip on your business and will help you get un-stuck in whatever you are doing. If you are in business and want to dramatically increase your revenue, check out Slusar Solutions website.
