Is there something new you’ve been wanting to get or do, but instead you feel stuck with the same old, same old?
It could be a rut, a repetitive cycle, or a goal that’s been on your list for years.
The secret to getting what you want in your life is to create space for it first.
If your life is filled with habits, things, commitments, relationships and work that you don’t want, then there’s no space to add or create something new.
Spring is the season to clear out the old to create what you want
When you do your spring cleaning,? you clear out the old to welcome the new. If your closet is too full then how do you fit new clothes?
The freshness of your house when you open the?windows on the first warm spring day and clear out all of that stale winter air is amazing! It’s time to do that in your life so you can create new awesomeness.
It takes courage and commitment to clear space, and it’s absolutely worth it.
Here are 4 ways to clear space and get what you want
1.Be honest with yourself
You have to know what you want before you can start to clear space for it. Be honest and authentic with yourself about what’s important to you.

What DO you really want? Take out your journal and write it down.
2. Say yes to say no
The more you say no to the people, things, habits and commitments that you really don’t want in your life, the more you can say yes to what you do want. Stop saying yes because you think it’s your duty, or you feel like you can’t say no, or you think it’s expected of you. To get what you want you have to say no so you can say yes.
3.Spring clean for mind and body
The participants in my guided spring cleanse are always shocked at the clarity of mind, and extra energy in body that they get when they give up snacking between meals.
They realize that too much snacking was? filling up their digestive systems andmaking them sluggish, full of brain fog and heavy.
When they cleared space in their digestive tracts their digestive fire could actually do its job effectively. In the process, cleanse participants also discover that they weren’t actually hungry between meals anyway. Snacking was just a way to pacify challenging emotions and boredom.
One participant realized that her habit of listening to podcasts on her daily walks allowed no space for her own reflection. In her words: “I realized that the podcasts were filling my thoughts for me, and it’s been interesting to see what comes up from within me. The walk was crisper, I noticed more about the textures, smells, sounds around me. More focused. More present.”
4.Get comfortable with discomfort
My cleanse participants didn’t think the cleanse was easy. It was hard! They cleared space in their lives and invested in the experience because they wanted a reset. They didn’t know for sure that it was going to pay off, but they were clear that they wanted to try.
The result was a big payoff in gaining greater clarity, lightness and joy. Not only that, but because did something hard, and came out the other side feeling better, they build confidence and trust in themselves.
According to Ayurveda, spring season is ideal for clearing space in body and mind to be ready to invite the fullness of summer season into your life.
