My Yogi brand tea bag had this to say to me this morning:
“Master the unknown by knowing your deep self.”
Profound, right? This got me thinking about how unknown your next step can be in your business and how you can get stuck not knowing how to go to your next level.

Let’s face it; entrepreneurship is scary, and there are a lot of unknowns. So many things can keep you stuck—not knowing the foundational elements of business, not knowing which systems work best for you, not knowing if your idea will actually work.
When God called you into business and gave you that pull on your heart to do something in the marketplace, He also equipped you to do it.
The truth is if you know yourself better and know how God designed you, it will help you create the business that is not only right for you, but you’ll also be able to pinpoint what is keeping you stuck, deal with it, and get to your next level.
Something is keeping you from stepping out and going to the next level. I know you’re frustrated. So, now’s the time to get unstuck in your business.
How to get unstuck in your business
The best way to start any discussion about how to get unstuck in your business and go to your next level needs to start with an evaluation. Let’s do a little self-diagnostic. Answer honestly the following questions.
Where am I today?
Look back at what you have accomplished so far. Celebrate things that went well. Remember things that did work out as you planned, and think through what you learned. Finally, give yourself credit for what you have built so far.
When my Business & Educational Center shut down, I didn’t feel like I would ever get to my next level.
I was doing good work, like running a membership networking group, giving workshops, and renting space in my center but it was just not enough. I didn’t know how to get MORE business without giving MORE of myself, and there was nothing left to give.
The shift came when God gave me a project. That project became my first book, leading me to?Calling Clarity , my coaching business. Getting to my next level meant taking things away, focusing, and working in my genius zone.
Make your list of all the things you are doing in your business. See how many things you are doing. Congratulate yourself for the initiative, and then start to take things away.
That leads me to the next self-diagnostic question.
What’s helping me right now?
Look at that list you created with all those components to your business. Highlight or check off which ones are:
I had to be honest with myself when I was stuck. I looked at all the things that were going on in the center and realized I couldn’t sustain it. God was making sure I was trusting Him. He brought me to the place where I could see the next move.
And, it really was fulfilling that “desire of my heart.” I wrote that book. You see, the part of my business that most energized me and gave me satisfaction was seeing the AHAs of the women I worked with in business and watching them grow in their faith, commitment, and business knowledge.
Getting unstuck meant figuring out how to monetize my business better.
Is there a focus for you??Do you see something you highlighted in your list that could be your ONE focus? The thing that will show you how to get unstuck in your business and take you to the next level.
Now on to the last self-diagnostic question.
What else can help me next?
I always say, “we just don’t know what we just don’t know”. And, when you don’t know God’s design of you, it is difficult to pinpoint just where it is you are getting stuck.
Do you see things on your list that you are doing right now that are not you? Are you just doing them because you were shown/told by someone this is the way to do it? Did you look at how others were putting their businesses together and decided to imitate their steps?
This is why you want to get unstuck in your business—doing things that are not you.
Make a list of things you need to know. What are the things that you wish you knew more about? What ‘How tos’ do you need to learn?
To step to the next level, I needed to know a lot of new things:

I didn’t do it alone. Getting to the next level involved asking for help and paying for help. There’s no need for anybody to reinvent the wheel. I connected with and got help from those ahead of me—those doing what I wanted to do.
Keep your list. It will guide you to the right help.
Get clarity to get unstuck in your business
I hope the self-diagnostic got you to see some important things about who you are and God’s design of you. He created you perfect for what He is calling you to do.
Clarity begins with active reflection.?You cannot get unstuck in your business unless you know how to look at yourself objectively and see things that may be hidden from you right now.
My journey and my clients’ journeys all began the same way. Yours is the same too, understanding God’s design of you. In?Psalm 139:14 , David says,
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous, how well I know it.
Psalm 139:14
Calling Clarity ?helps you do just this. It gives you an active way to dig deep into your design and discover what God has called you to do. When you can get up each day thinking, “I get to do this,” that’s when you know you are working on your design.
But how can doing all this work really help you get to your next level? Remember, it is in doing the deep work. I’ve got THREE strategies:
First, shift your thinking and focus to God as the CEO of your business.
If you know me at all, you know I believe that?growing your faith fuels your business.?God is using your business to transform you into the image of His Son. Going to your next level requires making Him the CEO (Chief Everything Officer) of your life and business.
Everything you do should be focused on making disciples and giving Him glory.
Second, tapping into your soul.
As a believer in Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit inside of you, guiding you in the right direction to go. This means spending time in prayer with your journal.
God wants you to spend time with Him. When I started my business, I found myself spending more time in the Word and more time in prayer. I needed to depend on Him.
This continues today. I know I come up with the best ideas because I use my prayer time to work through not only personal things but the things that will help you get unstuck in your business and take it to the next level. It is all God’s; why would I fight that?
And third, energizing your mind and emotions.
You must be connected to what you are doing because you know it is God’s Calling for you. It may not be the only ‘good thing’ He will have you do in your life, but it must connect to who you are right now and grow you into what He wants you to become next.
As an entrepreneur, you must keep learning, expanding your knowledge and learning from those ahead of you. But, God doesn’t want you to do this alone. This entrepreneurial adventure is filled with unknowns that can trip you up, get you stuck, and make you want to give up.?
God provides the resources you need to keep going. Find your coach for those things you don’t know how to do yet.?I would LOVE to chat with you about Calling Clarity. ?I know it’s comprehensive enough to take you to the next level.
Get unstuck for good
When you have a community, people who keep you accountable, a place to work out your frustrations, and people who “get you,” then you find success, again and again, and you keep moving to the next level.
God didn’t ask you to do this alone.
What is keeping you stuck??How can you get unstuck in your business and go to the next level?
By knowing the deep YOU, the one God designed.
You are amazing! God wants you to show your brilliance to those He has called you to serve.
Take a moment and write out this:
I wonder. . .
It is exciting to be in business with God! I have found that to be true over the last 20 years. He is faithful to give you what you need when you need it, so you can do what He asks you to do.
