How to get in touch with someone with a CXO or Founder tag?
I've seen a lot of people flustered about how to get in touch with someone with a CXO or Founder tag. Well, this may help.
Disclaimer:
Yes, It is tough to get replies from many of those high profile people out there. But you can't be sure when you'll get your break. Most of them have personal emails managed by their assistants or by a team of executive communications personnel.
1. Finding their email
There are lots of sources from where you can get email ids. Usually, they tend to be an "abc@xyz.com". A search with trial and error on Hangouts may give you some leads too. Using tools like Vibe sets a context of the person you're looking to connect with - a little extra data never hurt. But hey, if nothing else works out, try (email hunter on) LinkedIn.
2. Writing crisp emails
This CXO you want to get in touch with may not give you the luxury of time you expect him to give. With about a 100 emails in his/her inbox each day, yours is bound to get buried.
Unless,
It fits in one screen. This is important because, 65% of the mails are opened first on a mobile (Reference: Venturebeat.com) Keep it short, sensible, well-researched and highly personalised - the upshot? Do. Your. Homework.
3. Being courteous
If you're confident enough to reach out to a CXO, you ought to be confident enough to ask him upfront, if he's interested. If he isn't, maybe don't flood his inbox with pretty follow-ups?
4. Keeping track
Tools like Streak do a great job when it comes to creating pipelines to track all sorts of outbound emails.
If you've found that "hook" in your product or idea, then it doesn't take that much of coaxing or frothy emails to convince someone. But hey, typos are never cool.
