Getting more reach through hashtags is one of the most powerful ways to grow organically nowadays. But it’s not as easy as it seems. I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of accounts who get thousands of likes and huge exposure even without a big following. How is that? You can find a simplified explanation of how it works in the attached pictures.

That’s what we as technical marketers do — trying to find ways to squeeze the maximum from available recourses.

1. Highly Engaging Content. It doesn't matter what tricks you use or ads you run. If your content isn't engaging - you won't get a lot of reach.
2. Add up to 30 relevant hashtags. This is crucial. It shows Instagram what your content is about. Your post will be shown on Explore page by these hashtags and to the users who subscribed on those hashtags.
3. Follow 10-10-10 hashtag rule. Hashtags range by popularity. This is my proven technique: 10 low popular (10-50k); 10 medium popular (50-500k); 10 star hashtags (500k+).
4. Use only relevant hashtags. After you sent your post to Instagram Universe, it will start to show it to users by hashtags. The more relevant your post to the hashtags - the more engagement and reach you get.
5.1 Ask your friends to engage. As soon as you posted your content ask your friends to like, comment and add to saved your post in first hour. That's a big signal for IG algo that your content is valuable.
5.2 Auto engaging services. These services do autoliking and commenting for you on auto. But beware! Not all of them bring results! These paid likes and comment should have high authority on Instagram = come from big and live accounts.
6. Analyze your positions. Go to your post after hour of posting and check your position on each hashtag by clicking on it. If you're deep down in the popular feed on majority - try to add less popular hashtags next time. Growing slow but stedily is a key!
