How to Get Started with your Retirement

tldr: when you have all the info/skills you need, take action!

I'm guilty of being an information addict.

I love having all the facts laid out, the procedures clearly defined and the textbook answer ready.

And many times in the past, I've suffered from Analysis Paralysis.

I get so bogged down by the details, and the sheer volume of information, that i become stuck!

I know in my head that i have all the tools and info to get started. But somehow, i pause, procrastinate, and just not do it.

It's exactly the same with planning Lina's and my retirement. I had so much info, so much knowledge, and definitely the skills to execute our retirement plan!

But I just couldn't do it.

I told myself, yes, we'll get started tomorrow. Tomorrow became next week, then next month, then bloody hell, next year.

Next thing I know, we've lost easily 2 years of growth in the global markets, and it set our plan back by another 2 years.

I had to take a long hard look at myself in the mirror, and realised that the longer i waited, the less time I had to grow my money.

I sat down with Lina, and we executed the plan. Today, our portfolio is chugging along, and we're on track to retire in the next 20 years.

(yes, 20 years. get rich slowly, and guarantee my retirement).
