How to get the right driver power for your light.

As most people need to do one thing,that is how to get the right power of a driver to match the complete light power.

Before you need to a driver for ur light.

Have to know clear about your light source details:

Parallel-series method is important parameter.

For example: 12w led panel lights,most people will make it to be 12C5B according to 2835 LED Chip.3-3.3v per piece led chip,60mA

This info helps us know below:

As we know:in Series circuit,current is the same,so you need to calculate the voltage,then,12*3.3=36V.

in parallel circuit,the voltage is the same,so current will be 5*60mA=300mA.

Now,you got the output current: 300mA,and output voltage: 36v

Driver power: output current*output voltage=10.8w.

As per each driver has its own power efficiency and different from each supplier.

Our driver for 10.8w,power efficiency will be 81%.

Then you could calculate the total light power: 10.8/0.81=13.3w.

That is quite enough for ur light which you need 12w.

Above will be the situation that you know quite sure the Output current and output voltage.

If not,you need to get the parameters from the Comperhensive testing machine which will let you know: the driver output current and output voltage,power factor,current ripple,etc.
