?? Hi Creative, Sebastian here!
After taking a break from writing this newsletter, I'm sitting here, finding it hard to pick it up again.
What has happened? Why did I stop?
It's easy to point to my other private and professional commitments.
Instead of decreasing time and effort for a short time I stopped completely.
I feel like I'm on the other side of this rut, feeling energized to rebuild.
If you want to break the cycle of starting a positive habit enthusiastically, only to stop it and feel miserable about it, read on...
???? Detaching yourself from immediate rewards
Whether it's the instant gratification of likes on a social media post or the rush of accomplishing short-term goals, you become fixated on seeking immediate validation.
This leads to a yo-yo effect and losing sight of your true passions and purpose.
You'll sacrifice your personal values just to achieve fleeting moments of recognition.
Resist the temptation of instant gratification and focus on the long-term benefits.
By shifting your perspective, you can cultivate a mindset that values long-term progress over short-term gains.
The rewards you seek are byproducts of having a strong sense of purpose and start?acting like it.
This way, you can appreciate the small victories, the lessons learned, and the personal growth that comes with each step forward.
???? Define and live your boundaries
Rushing is the quickest way to kill a habit.
I started out by posting a written blog every weekday.
Because I was seeking quick results, I continued posting on Instagram once a day, LinkedIn two times a day and daily writing for this newsletter.
It was simply too much.
But once I started doing more, I could not decrease the effort to a healthy amount until I had to stop everything for a while.
Rushing will lead you to frustration.
Define your parameters, like posting once a day or exercising for half an hour daily.
Establish boundaries and?stick to them?until you've gathered enough feedback.
You are simply testing out what works for you.
?? Let go of shame
Whenever I stop my established habits I feel a sense of shame.
Feeling ashamed of my current state, I compare it to where I?think?I should be.
This is causing me to withdraw and hide my embarrassment from others.

Now I feel like this: If it can help just one person, share your knowledge.
No longer will I let shame dictate my actions and hold me back from engaging.
You don't have everything figured out yet.
Let go of the shame of this realization.
Acceptance will make you fluid. You will be able to reassess and course correct.
?? See the break as an awareness opportunity
Returning to good habits after a long break requires patience, self-compassion, and a willingness to learn from past experiences.
Taking a break doesn't mean failure.
It presents an opportunity for growth and self-awareness.
This break was an opportunity to explore.
Ask yourself these questions
You will gather important knowledge to learn new things from old patterns.
You are the only one that knows your current situation.
Be honest with yourself:
Have you truly made the progress that you’ve wanted to in the last 6 months?
How much longer will you be okay with your current situation in your creative profession?
Start making significant progress towards your created life, or sit back and wait for the perfect moment (which we both know will never come).
You have the choice.
I have helped dozens of Creative Beings to become more accurate about where they are, create a vision for themselves and becoming the people who create the life they aspire to live.
