How to get a new job in 12 weeks and road-testing microcredentials

Candidates must be proactive in their job search because the vast majority of vacancies are filled before a job ad is ever written. That's the view of recruiter?Richard Triggs.
And he wants us to lean into that idea as we approach our next job search.
This week, Triggs breaks down?his four-step approach?to accessing what some call the hidden jobs market – or the vacancies that are never advertised publicly.
Triggs says his experience of “coaching literally hundreds of people through this process” suggests people who spend an hour a day following his advice will land a job within 12 weeks.
And it’s advice that?Byron Gray?swears by too.
The growth and partnerships manager at captioning service Caption Connect believes he would have missed out on his current job if he hadn’t contacted the company’s hiring manager on LinkedIn. He says more than 100 people applied for the role, but he was the only one out of a handful of interviewees who made a direct approach.
“I applied [for the job], but I also built a relationship with them,” he says.
“And it’s the relationship that got me in front of them. The relationship is what enabled me to gain a better understanding of what it was that they needed.”
