How To Get New Clients With Sales Navigator

How To Get New Clients With Sales Navigator

I can think of FIVE ways that you can start getting new clients with Sales Navigator:

ONE

Use the Advanced Search Functionality

Sales Navigator has 40+ filters to help you find your target audience to the detail you require. Most people will be looking for business owners in a particular industry in a certain geographical location - but here are some of the more detailed searches you can also perform with Sales Navigator:

  • Technologies used - find companies who use Hubspot, Apple, Salesforce, etc.
  • Companies "like" - maybe you have a list of existing clients and want to find similar companies? No problem, the Sales Navigator algorithm is good at that!
  • Companies that are growing in terms of turnover and employees.
  • Prospects with certain keywords in their profile - for example a qualification like MBA, ACCA or CeMAP.
  • And much more.

TWO

Boolean searches and keywords

Sales Navigator searches are very good, but did you know you can find people more effectively using Boolean searches and keywords. You probably know what keywords are so here's a quick example on Boolean searches:

If you're looking for a Marketing Director, most people will enter this as the job title - but there's a problem!

Marketing Director will bring up everybody with EITHER word in the job title, so you could end up generating the following results:

  • Marketing Assistant
  • Marketing Manager
  • IT Director
  • Sales Director.

None of which are Marketing Director!

The fix to this is to ensure that you enter "Marketing Director" as the job title - this will search for the EXACT phrase. There will be less names on the list, but a much more accurate search!

THREE

Use Inmails and FREE Inmails

You can directly message up to 50 people outside of your network each month with Sales Navigator.

But did you also know:

  • Unused Inmail credits automatically roll over into the next month, up to a maximum of 3 months. So if you haven't used any for a while, you could have 150 Inmails available.
  • If you are a Sales Navigator user, you can contact other premium users via Inmail for free - no Inmail credits are used and although LinkedIn doesn't publicise this, you can do this up to 800 times per month without risking LinkedIn jail!

So to summarise, you have the ability to send 850-950 Inmails each month!

FOUR

Use Sales Navigator as a CRM

Yes, Sales Navigator has some basic CRM functions so that you can create and manage a sales pipeline. You can:

  • Add notes to a prospect profile (don't worry, they won't see it, only you!)
  • Tag prospects with titles such as Sale, Meeting Booked, Interested, etc to enable you to see how many people you are engaging with and how many of those become paying clients.
  • Create and save searches for prospects with certain tags above - for example, if you tag a prospect with Meeting, they will automatically get added to another list.

FIVE

Get some help to put the above into practice
