Hi Team, Yesterday we started with NovCT JobSeeker mentorship. In current times, the majority are struggling to get more interview calls & struggling to crack the interviews. With my 13 years of IT exp, I would like to share the key insights and guaranteed ways by which you would get more interview calls. Let's start
Here are some key points that we discussed yesterday for getting more interview calls.
- We need more efficient and guaranteed ways to get more interview calls, & for cracking the interviews. We need concrete ideas and strategies to get results.
- Big RISK: Having only profile created on job portals, and by simply applying to companies, you would end up being part of the crowd, and many resumes will not even be seen by HRs. So simply applying, will NOT work.
- Apply the below step-by-step job-hunting system - To get more interview calls
- Find & Apply for Jobs: Find relevant jobs on job portals and apply for those jobs. Read the Job-Descriptions, and you should process only those where you are relevant. Otherwise, even if you apply for that, it will not be considered.
- Collect more details about the company: Company Name, Contact Email, Phone Number / Whatapp, Company linkedin Page, Company website (Contact us)
- Drop an email to the company email / HR. Specify to them, that you have applied for their position. And are looking forward for it. [Message templates would be shared later.]
- Network with HRs & Working professionals of this company on LinkedIn
- With HR contacts, drop them connection-requests, and comment on their posts. Showcase confidence that you are skilled at the job, and be very excited to work with them.
- "With Working professionals". Identify some commonalities between you & working professionals. And execute a referral program with them.
- Repeat these actions on a daily basis. Apply to companies, track those additional details, drop an email to companies, and send a connection request to professionals of that company for getting into a job. Over time you would start bonding with IT professionals, and interview calls would start getting arranged for you.
- Build a strong follow-up system. Please note that, on average it takes 3-5 messages to make someone respond to you. So with every company email & and LinkedIn connection, you need to send 3-5 messages to them over 1 month time, to get chances of arranging interview with them.
- Become Technically Strong: Please note that people would like to bond with you if they know that you are knowledgeable. You get respect only for your knowledge.
- Build a strong digital identity. Be technically good, and showcase to the world that you are good. Maintain a strong LinkedIn & and GitHub profile. When people visit these platforms, it should showcase that you are an expert in your technology.
- Be technically active on Linkedin: Keep posting technical content on LinkedIn on a daily basis to showcase your knowledge. Note that it should not look like ChatGPT written content.
Do follow this system, and over time you will start getting interview calls. Wish you very well.
In upcoming sessions, we will discuss building Effective Resumes!!!
