How To Get Matched To Your Ideal Client

Why do we go out networking?
We generally go out networking because we want to meet a potential client or to get introduced to someone that will further our career in some way. We enter into the room trying to sift through every person looking for the needle in the haystack. If it is an online meeting, we are combing through the chat looking for that ONE that stands out as someone who needs what we are offering. In the in person meeting we are collecting business cards and then later trying to remember which card belonged to who?
Generally though, the "RIGHT" person is not in the room and professional networkers know that the way to meet them is through those who were in the room. The only problem is, they won't introduce us.
Why won't people just give us the introduction that we need?
Often we have not asked for the lead in a way that generates a favorable response. We did not give enough details for the listeners to think of an exact person that fits our request, or they were so busy thinking about their own lives they were not listening.
Sometimes people won't give up the lead that we are asking for because they simply don't know us or trust us enough. I mean, think about it. We are asking them to give us their most valuable client, or their good friend. Do you hand those details out to strangers? Of course not.
That is one of the reasons that networks with membership work better than the freebie groups. In the paid groups, the members show up more regularly and trust grows over time. More than one follow-up meeting happens with members and frankly trust takes more than one meeting, so this is a better model for getting real appointments with a better matched potential client referral.
After failed networking attempts, with groups that don't know how to orchestrate real relationships that translate into lead generators many of us turn to LinkedIn to generate these kinds of leads.
Why doesn't LinkedIn work to kick out more business?
It does. If we do it right, but most of us don't do it right. We try to take short cuts and pommel people with automated messages, and we fling links at thousands of connections, hoping that some of our mud will stick to our walls. We sign up for LinkedIn Premium and then Sales Navigator and we try and try with little results.

Today I know exactly what my target market is, and I have my profile set up to bring me an ideal match. When I visit one of my trusted connections on LinkedIn, I can tell who they know and trust, and which of these people is my exact prospect match. Then I simply ask for the introduction. Last week I had 6 of these appointments, which was the number I wanted. I could have had more, if I had more time for them, but week after week I have just the right amount. It is changing the sales game entirely.
