How to Get Local Business Using the Internet

You don’t want the Internet to intervene with your sales process, you just want it to add to your pipeline.

Three types of digital upsells and examples:
Pre-transaction upsell – push to add an additional complementary item to their cart.
Post-transaction upsells – once the transaction is done, you ask if they want the matching piece or add-on that enhances the purchase made or brings similar value (can be one-click upsells)
Follow up – likely through email...how did you like your purchase? Want to try X also?
Simple Rules to remember:
1. The internet doesn’t replace your sales process
2. The internet is the initiation of your sales process
3. Go obvious (show your ads to people who are more likely to buy your product)
What’s a good indicator that someone might already be interested in your products or service?
#1 Situational
Example: You are in the transportation business. Someone is on vacation and needs transportation—you have a guy outside the airport near the baggage claim asking, "do you need a ride?"
Geofencing (we do that for you HERE) allows you to draw an invisible digital border around a geographical area and anyone that comes into that border with their phone will see ads on their mobile applications and websites in the form of banner ads. Remember, not everyone wants to call uber.
#2 Competitors
The average length of stay for someone who comes to Miami, Florida is about 14 days so for the next 14 days you could be showing these people ads, on weather.com and such, so when they're ready to go back to the airport from their trip to Miami and don’t want to uber, they'll call you.
Point being, you can CHOOSE which website you advertise on...which means you can target your competitors so that when people are shopping at your competition, they'll see your ads come up on their screen (we do that too, right HERE).
#3 Address retargeting
Make a physical address list of people who are in the market for your product or service, including your direct competitors and past buyers. Did you know that you can only show your ads to that list?
#4 Search retargeting
These customers want to buy something and are kind of interested, so they go to Google and search for your product or service—including any content that is being consumed relating to that search! This user is now...trackable.
These methods are great for brick and mortars. In this case, you can set up a conversion zone that creates a digital circle around your store. Now you can see anyone who saw your ad on the Internet and came to your store.
There's so much more that can be said about digital marketing and advertising, but if you aren't SCALING your online business with both organic AND paid advertising, you're doing it wrong.
