If you want to know how to get leads on LinkedIn you are in the right place! LinkedIn is a powerful tool for lead generation. And I think Sales Navigator is one of the best tools for Small Business Owners. AND if you want to be successful on the platform, you’ve got to focus on what is working NOW!
Here’s some out of date strategies that are no longer working for LinkedIn lead generation.
- Sending out vague requests for a 15 minute meeting.
- Explaining your services and asking for the sale in a message.
- Sending long messages with a link that takes the reader to a sales page/landing page.
Why aren’t they working? That’s an easy one to answer. Go look at your LinkedIn inbox. It’s crowded. There are a ton of pitch messages that are making the platform feel a little bit spam-like.
So, if you want to know how to get leads on LinkedIn, you’ve got to shift your approach and create a stronger LinkedIn Strategy.
Here’s 4 things I recommend you start doing for your lead generation.
- View your LinkedIn messaging as one piece of a marketing campaign, not as the whole campaign. You simply won’t take someone from a brand new contact into a client within one email.
- Start asking for Interview Requests. If you don’t have a Youtube channel, a Podcast, a blog, or a book that you can interview people for, get one. It’s one of the best ways to meet and build relationships with your ideal clients. And Interview requests have a pretty high response rate.
- Give something away that is high value. Honestly, no one wants long right now. They are also not crazy about free courses. I’m finding people want something that is easy to consume. Like a free report, or a list of the best free resources in your industry. This is a get to know you piece and we want it to be good quality, but also really easy to consume!
- Invite people to join you on a webinar. I know this one is not as effective as it was a couple of years ago, but it is still working! The difference I’m seeing today is that your prospects no longer want a long webinar. They want short and sweet! Try to keep your trainings to 30 minutes with the goal of scheduling a sales call instead of selling your high end offer on the webinar.
Knowing how to get leads on LinkedIn will save you a ton of time and money using ineffective, out of date strategies. If you want to hear more about these lead generation strategies, make sure you check out this week’s YouTube video.
