How to get leads from LinkedIn through content marketing?

When we start creating content on LinkedIn most of think sharing content will get us leads it simply does not work like that while some of you may have gotten results but it is not the ideal way not a long term solution.

Content marketing is learning, giving, analyzing, and repeat with the goal of helping one person at a time, as you start learning things like who are they?, what they need?, what are they expecting from you?, what is the state of their mind before and after they consume your content? you start becoming better at it and start making content that make difference, that impact the lives of your audience and provoke their thoughts.

The goal of giving is that you share your knowledge, experiences, things that you learned the hard way and things that people pay for, once this happens you slowly build authority in the mind of your audience. While you are giving all these things to your audience what are you asking them in return, nothing and you should expect nothing because that's what you will get for a long time.

Analyzing your content will only help you to improve the quality and the results you will get as a content creator, what I mean by this is once you start analyzing each piece of your content you put out there, you look at the likes, comments, views and based that most people decide what is working and what is not this is the right way nothing is wrong with that but to analyze content you also need to see and understand what type of comments did you get are they just compliments or are they some thoughtful comments, it will help you create more engaging content and most importantly an engaging audience who think and question your content.

Give without having expectations when you start making content with the intent of leads in your mind it is visible in your content your audience who is consuming the every piece of content you are creating since they have followed you is very smart, If you content has any promotional intent that's visible in your content too people can smell very fast when someone is trying to sell anything to them, promotional content put a whole in your reputation so make sure you do not put too much efforts in promotional content but in content that add value.

Last thoughts

Sharing content slowly reserves your spot in your potential customer's mind, it can take days, weeks, months, and even a year to get leads/customers from content marketing. If we post for the sake of leads we become biased towards leads, to get leads you need to build credibility by helping people with your content, some people trust you fast and some people take time for example: one of my client from LinkedIn was consuming my content from 1 year and he contacted my for brand strategy when he needed it because he trusted me.

Ps: If you want to know more about generating leads from LinkedIn there are some important things you need to do before generating content, you can ask me if you have decided to start your journey, or you can wait for that article to come out.
