How To Get A Job And Also Become A Valuable Employee

Don't attend any job interview you did not apply for or referred to by an employee of the company.

Always research the name of any organisation on Google and check them out on LinkedIn before proceeding to the interview. Check their website as well. Your ability to show you researched the company adds to your interview score but it is actually for you to know the company.

That said, when you attend interviews, do NOT pay for any interview or forms that is promised as guarantee you employment. Any company that asks you to pay for their products so you make millions is a scam.

Don't ever get it twisted, Value counts for every organisation. So always ask yourself the value you have in terms of work experience, skill set, creativity, knowledge in terms of certifications and your ability to learn.

For me, I only seek for value and your ability to deliver. There is no room for platitudes because I also wasn't given any during my job stint.

Most times I see grey minds asking for 100k and 150k as their salary and can't even send a simple mail. Can't deliver on targets and assignments.

If you don't have any work experience, go for internships, spend more time learning and practicing skills in the career you want to pursue. Always bring value to the table. Be open to opportunities. Money is good but that is not the first thing on the table.

When you get that job! Put all your acts to it. Grow your competence. Get the right knowledge and learn skills to do the job, not as you wish or think but as the company requires you to do them. It is about the Vision of the Owner of the company.

Believe me when I say that valuable resources always stand out. They move from their packs to become team leads and supervisors. Not by bebelubeing or eye service! But by rendering quality service and meeting targets on task assigned to them. They are always dependable and go the extra mile even at their own cost at times. If as a manager or MD I can sleep with my two eyes closed with you on a task. Then you are the one!

I know there are lots of people in this category. They are giving all , very resourceful but yet still underpaid and demotivated but they are still putting in their best. My advise is be open to new opportunities as you do that. Only time will tell. Once they leave that place to another organization that sees their value, they always get their worth both spiritually, emotionally and Physically.

So know your job, learn new skills and plan for the future. If you are not happy with where you find yourself. Plan for exit smartly and give the required one month notice. Your experience will count and with that you can negotiate bigger salaries.

You will succeed but always have it at the back of your mind that success is about value and value begets money and it you want plenty money then it is about multiple streams. Start a business! But know that by serving someone and helping him or her achieve his dreams you also learn to run a business. That is what hands on experience really does for you finally.

So go get that value! Be the one! Leave those complaining too much about the economy and seek new opportunities. There are so many trainings and skills online that you can take to improve yourself. Trust me they help a lot. You can be employed and also have a side hustle, with the skill you got while waiting for a job. That skill can also give you a quantum leap in your career. Your destiny is not in the hands of any man or woman but yours!
