How to Get Investors to Seek Out Your Startup Actively

How to Get Investors to Seek Out Your Startup Actively

? Occasionally, a founder will tell me:

“We are getting a lot of interest from investors.”

That's wonderful for them… but what about YOU? ??

Most will have to seek out and chase investors to get their attention.

I've personally experienced the need to pursue investors at various stages.

The good news is that now, 50% of investors actively seek me out for investment opportunities.

???♂? Here's a secret most founders don't know:

One of the best ways to raise funds is to make investors come to you.

Do founders get external interest? Yes, they made it happen.

And not by:

  • Spamming emails ??
  • Following VC investors on every social network ??
  • Attending meaningless networking events ??

Some call it “gut-feeling investing,” but it's true:

Investors pay close attention to social media signals.

And as the captain of your own ship, you need to take your social media game seriously too. ??

Here's how to do it, step-by-step:

Step 1: Choose ONE platform and dominate it

The core of this strategy: get PAYING CUSTOMERS.

To do this, forget about investors – they are not your primary target!

Choose a platform based on where your core customers are most likely to appear, for example:

  • LinkedIn is better for B2B sales with less familiar global partners ??
  • Facebook is better for sales within your circle of friends

?? Warning:

Only move to another platform once you've conquered the current one.

Focus tightly on attracting your best customers, and you'll have more wins to announce. ??

Example:

When I first started raising funds,

I chose LinkedIn as my starting platform.

After 2 years of focus, my LinkedIn attracted over 18,000 followers.

Most followers are Startup founders, fund managers, senior executives.

Among the top experts in fundraising in Vietnam,

Most founders reach out to me through LinkedIn.

Subsequently, investment funds ask me to introduce opportunities.

The detailed roadmap I built on LinkedIn can be found here.

Step 2: Consistency

Win the long game by being consistent over a long period:

  • Choose 1 field where you feel most suitable, your Unique Niche.
  • Provide value in every post ??
  • Plan 5 posts per week ???
  • Stick to your content and frequency goals – because it's easy to get distracted on social media.

Example:

I started sharing my first post on fundraising on December 31, 2021.

Since then, I have consistently shared one post on this topic.

To date, it has been 947 days.

The reward is that I am now in the BOD of a portfolio of 06 companies,

From Startups to corporations,

As a top expert in the field.
