??How to Get an Inspirational Patent ??

??How to Get an Inspirational Patent ??

So you have an idea about how the future cars should be electric, so you're just finishing 18 holes with Elon Musk, and you lean over and tell him your opinion. He looks at you and says, "let me think about that one." So a few years pass, and you're sitting on the couch, and the nightly news is on. Amazingly they announce that Tesla is opening its doors to sell EVs, and guess what? Elon Musk is the chairman.?

Wow, your idea has made it to the big time and is going to market. You are going to be rich! You need to get up and call a patent attorney to get Elon on a call. It would be best if you guys got your name added to the patents. There is no time to waste, so you make that call the following day.?

This is where you learn about patent law and the realities of what is real and what is fantasy.?

Telling someone about what needs to be invented vs. inventing it is two very different things. You're telling Elon to make EVs has nothing to do with the fact that he did it. Elon did it, not you. Unless you gave him drawings of the car, had him sign an NDA, and he went to market with something similar, you're out of luck. If you reached into your golf bag at 18 and had all the documents, then call Forbes because your name needs to add to their richest list.

Donald Trump told Pfizer to create a vaccine for Covid-19, and they did, yet Trump is nowhere on their patent applications. Why? Because inspiration is just that, inspiration and nothing more. You cannot get a patent for telling someone to do something. You can only get a patent if you truly invent something, period!?

Suppose watching a movie made it clear to someone "skilled in the art" how to make and use the invention; then, the people behind the film are the inventors, not you. Therefore, you can only patent what you invent.

When you have an idea, don't just think it's patentable because ideas are "a dime a dozen."?

After the dime was made in 1796, people started advertising goods for "a dime a dozen." This meant you were getting a good deal on products like a dozen eggs. Over time, the idiom evolved to mean the opposite. Instead of something being a good deal, it became a phrase to describe something that's not valuable and readily available. The first known use of it in this context is believed to have occurred in 1930. From there, people picked up on the phrase's new meaning and started using it in that context. So I wanted to use it here; your idea is either a dime a dozen or patentable because you drew it, created it, and most importantly, you INVENTED IT.?

Sorry that the United States Patent and Trademark Office does not recognize your inspiration. Regardless, keep moving forward next time, drain your putt, and don't say anything to Elon; head to the clubhouse and start your sketches for the Telsa S.

If you need help with your idea, let me know, and I will be happy to guide you. [email protected] #innovation #invent #design
