How to get Import-Export License in Dubai

Since the Dubai don’t produce much items on its land, therefore Import/Export is quite profitable business in UAE. There are many businesspersons interested in trading of variety of goods and commodities to various countries or within the country require a general trading license to do the same.

WHAT products allowed under General Trading License?

Cloths,Cosmetics, Food stuff trading, Furniture , Electronic items,Toys etc

Items not included under General Trading license like: Alcohol, Car, Medical Equipment, Chemicals Trading etc. for those products, we must need Concerned department or Municipality approval and get a separate license from Authorities. 

HOW to obtain General Trading License?

First we need to obtain Trade License from Authority, if client choose Mainland /Local Market then License will be issued from DED (photo add) and if its Free Zone then GT License will be issued from relevant Free Zone authority.

Afterwards, we need to take Custom Department certificate. The declaration and clearing system of the Customs Office in Dubai is called Mirsal 2.

Procedure to Obtain GT License

Step-1 Apply for Name Reservation + Initial Approval 

(For business activity we can choose upto 10 from same group)

Step-2 Registration Process

if Mainland Local company then MOA has to be Notarized by Dubai court/ Dubai notary public- Personal Presence is required for the owner/Partner of company- which takes almost an hour to complete the process.

If its Free Zone company- Personal Presence is required for the owner/Partner of company to verify the passport an sign the MOA & other corporate documents - which takes almost 15 minutes to complete the process.

Step-3 Finalize Office – Choose Physical office or Flexi desk

Step-3 Obtain License and incorporation docs (License +MOA/AOA+ COI+ Share certificate etc- 1 year validity- renewed yearly )

Step-4 Apply Establishment card or open Labor files to get Visa Quota fro Employment purpose.

Step-5 Apply for Residency visa & complete the next steps:

·        Medial fitness test + Emirates Id +  Health Insurance  

Once you have Valid Residency Visa & Emirates id, you can sponsor your family (spouse, Kids, dependents etc)  

Step-6 Open Company Bank account – After obtaining Residency Visa & Emirates id, Bank account can be open for company or Personal Bank account and start your business successfully.
