How to Get Ideal Clients to Raise Their Hand

How to Get Ideal Clients to Raise Their Hand

Imagine this….

What if people from your social media following, email list, or network raised their hand to let you know when they needed your services?

Wouldn’t it be so much easier if we didn’t need to run launches, do pushy promotions, or chase leads to enroll clients?

It reminds me of a time in college. (Now stick with me here.) I liked a woman in my apartment complex. We’ll call her Amber. She was so smart, quirky, and fun.?

I wanted to ask her out. The only problem was…I was too scared to do it!?

What if she said no?!

I didn’t want to “bother” her only to find out she wasn’t interested in me.

But then, something unexpected happened...

My Goofy, Geeky Self in College with the "Frodo Hair"

Amber's roommate paid me a visit one evening to make it clear that Amber would love it if I asked her out.?

Yes! I had a green light!

So I asked her out. We went on to have an 18-month relationship with some of my fondest college memories.

So…why am I telling you this?

Client Sales that Feel Natural

Wouldn’t it be cool to get a heads up about all the people in your network, email list, and social media following who needed your services right now and would be happy to speak with you about it?

Talking to people about working with you would be much easier.

Conversations would feel more natural.

And you would save time by not talking to dead-end prospects.

The truth is, nobody’s roommate is going to tell you to buck up and invite them to a call.?

However…

There is a way you can get perfect-fit prospects in your existing audience to raise their hand. It’s actually a bit like asking them on a date.?

Pull Best-Fit Clients in Like Gravity

It’s all about extending an invitation using resonant messaging that pulls your best-fit clients in like gravity. It’s very important that this feel like an invitation, not a promotion.?

When you do this the right way, it leads very naturally to conversations with the right people who genuinely need your help. You’ll get people asking how to work with you before you even bring it up.

Here’s an important takeaway.

There are dream clients within your reach right now. You could enroll some of them as clients in the next fourteen days with the right invitation.

And this isn’t a one-and-done thing. This easily adapts into a system that consistently brings you new clients every month.

But it all starts by creating the right invitation with the right messaging hook.

Client-Attracting Invitations

Client-attracting invitations can take many forms. I find it's especially effective to design experiences that grab the attention of your perfect-fit prospects, deliver real value, and give people a taste of what it's like to work with you.

This works best when you create an experience that builds on your strengths and allows you to shine.

This could be a networking event, discussion group, Q&A session, mini-mastermind, or an action-focused workshop to name a few ideas. Be creative.

Extending the right invitation to your email list, social media following, and network is like someone giving you a hot list of people who need your help most.

Not only that, but it shortens the sales cycle and saves you hours of time on dead-end phone calls.

How do you identify people in your orbit who are ready for your help and may not know yet that you are the best solution for them?

Jason Van Orden Valuable point able a communication piece reflecting that of an "invitation" rather than some "promotion". No doubt that those who accept this "invitation" will have a more engaging and fruitful conversation for both parties. Thanks for sharing!

Jason Van Orden loved your analogy from college as opportunity very rarely falls right in our lap. Your upcoming class sounds amazing!

This question keeps us awake: ?"Wouldn’t it be cool to get a heads up about all the people in your network, email list, and social media following who needed your services right now and would be happy to speak with you about it?" Thank you for addressing it, Jason Van Orden, with identifying "Best-Fit Clients" and reaching them with strategic "Client-Attracting Invitations."

Jason Van Orden, this is such a refreshing perspective on client acquisition! I love the analogy with the college story - it's so relatable. The idea of extending an invitation rather than pushing a promotion is a game-changer. It's all about creating genuine connections and letting the relationship evolve naturally. Thanks

Great post, Jason Van Orden! It seems that the place I am extending an invitation and receiving a great response is TikTok. What a surprise! How do I translate what I do on TikTok to other platforms for similar results?? I don't know but maybe you do??
