So your Facebook business ad account has just been hacked.
You can tell because all of these strange charges start showing up in your ad account and weird foreign language ads start appearing that originate from your business page.
Your first thought is some bleary-eyed hacker sitting in a boiler room in some exotic country halfway around the world looking at all of your personal information trying to decide among a long list of nefarious ways he can use it to drain your bank account and ruin your online reputation.
Your second thought is, I have to reach out to Facebook to get this stopped.
But wait...
...search as you might, there doesn't seem to be any Earthly way to communicate with an actual human being on Facebook.
How can this be?
Facebook is one of the largest companies in the world with over 2 billion active users and millions of advertisers paying billions of dollars each month looking to get in front of those user eyeballs.
How can it be that they don't have customer facing support for your business?
Well, the short answer is they do, but they make it very difficult to access.
And did I mention how you access it changes all of the time?
Here's how to get help...for now.
Step 1
Navigate to the Facebook business support page for billing & payments and click on the "Top Questions about Charges" FAQ titled, "What to do if you don't recognize activity on your advertising account".
Step 2
Scroll all the way down the next page and click on, "let us know." It's a hyperlink at the very bottom of the post and it is very easy to miss if you aren't looking for it.
Step 3
On the next page fill out the form as follows,
Step 4
Now you simply wait for your reply.
I've found from working with clients that Facebook will get back pretty quickly when fraud is involved.
If you follow these steps, Facebook should refund your money and help you secure your Facebook account from bleary-eyed hackers...for now.
