You never know what job you should be doing in particular after you are done with your graduation.
But you know one thing,,
It should be top grossing...
Indeed top grossing jobs are hard to find but there are some tricks and tactics that can put you some steps closer to the grossing job than your other immediate competitors. Ahead start is always praised by companies as well as bosses.
This article is about how to find the top grossing job and then how to fit in.
The first thing you should be considering while doing your graduation is that, graduation does not guarantee you a job that is connected directly to your subjects and course of studies. Keep this thing outside of you mind that all the courses are directly related to industry. Books generally give you, more or less, an idea about the basic components of a system and help you remember their names and that is it.
If you want to do a job based on your degree. That would be a blend of all/some of the subjects plus minus some additional skills or know-how.
So you are graduated...
First decide that whether you want to study more (which I would advise to do it after bearing 2-3 years of market struggles), or you want to do a local business, or you want to do a local job or you want to opt for an international engagement. Off course, the farther you go from your home, the more are chances to have a highly paid job (sad but true).
Then, you should sit in front of your computer (I never recommend Phone) and calmly open your web browser and type www.google.com. Yeah, that's the first thing you should be doing. After this, based on your decision is step 1, search inside a local job search engine or on a global level. Here I am giving you a list of search engines for jobs that would do your work.
Indeed its better to make an online resume on these sites and add your favorite subjects and keywords so that the job matches are filtered for you accordingly (it is recommended but not necessary). This was your step 2.
Your task, here in step 3, is to enter a search term based on the top trending jobs in you field of graduation/expertise and just skim through the list. Check the salaries, locations, tasks and skills required.
Yes the skills required...
Now here comes the step that non of your teachers has ever told you. You need to take notes of the required skills for your favorite job.
It should look like this...
Job Needed: <Title of the Job>
Skills Required:
1. skill.1
领英推荐
2. skill.2
3. skill.3
... bla bla bla
Try to figure our which skill is to be learnt first, which step depends upon another, which is more important, which one is the basic skill which is necessary and a must to learn & BINGO...
Only the rewarding skills are useful, whether you are graduated or not...
Step 4 is that Go back to Google and and just write these magical words before each skill,
Method 1: Learn <here goes your required/prioritized skill> online
Method 2: <skill> tutorial YouTube
Method 3: Free course <skill>
Method 4: Edx/Coursera/DataCamp/MITx <skill> course
Method 5: You have already gotten the idea of search term in google.
Repeat step 4 for every shortlisted skill in step 3 and don't forget to take lessons on each skill from the Internet (your teacher from today, till you want to retire).
Step 5 starts after you get ideas about the skills and have some software based and page based know-how of it. Start searching for small tasks on each skill on google, freelancer communities, olx, linkedIn, glassdoor, odesk, elance, upwork, your friend, teacher, father's cousin and everything that can be formatted to use your skills. Keep practicing for FREE if it is not hurting your feelings.
Never stop applying for online jobs plus online openings for jobs and keep enhancing your skills. I am sure that one day, you will get an interview call and I do know that you would nail it because you are a skilled person now.
Remember that you were searching for a top paid job so never stop this process even if you have a job that sucks. You can always change your field. And here comes my favorite quote.
A 4 year degree and weird bunch of freaky instructors can never decide for the brain you trained the 18 years, before coming over. (Me)
