How to get Ads Manager prepped for IOS 14 Changes

Apple announced a number of changes that are coming in since their launch of iOS14 last year. Essentially IOS 14 users will be able to opt out of ads. These changes are going to cause these issues for Facebook Ads:
1. Tracking will be become more difficult
2. Attribution windows will change from 28 days to 7 days
3. As users opt out of tracking we’ll need to ensure we understand how clients or customers are finding us e.g. using email or a post-purchase survey tool.
This WILL have an effect on your Ads BUT we are all ‘in the same boat’ - noone is ahead on this game
I believe people are going to get wise to opting out of Ads - if you choose to opt out YOU STILL GET SERVED ADS - you simply won’t get targeted with USEFUL ads - so you’ll just see a sea of unuseful ads.
This is the same for ads on all platforms so no need to panic and diversify straight away to other channels.
Here's the practical steps you need to take ASAP:
?? Verify your domain
This ensures that you are 'official' in the eyes of Facebook
Head to Business Settings > Data Sources > Brand Safety > Domains then select or add your domain.
Follow 1 of 3 verification processes and follow the steps.
Once verified you'll see a green dot next to your name.
?? Turn on automatic advanced matching
AAM tells Facebook to gather data directly from your website visitors when that data is present (e.g. when they provide their information upon purchase)
Go to Business Manager > Events Manager > Settings > Automatic Advanced Matching
?? Implement the Conversions API (CAPI) - you can do this a number of ways using plug ins, tools (eg Zapier) or integrations (eg if you have shopify it's super easy and quick)
