How To Get 1000 Subscribers On YouTube FREE – What I Did??

When you very first start your YouTube channel, it can be very hard to gain real YouTube subscribers.

It really seems like you’re continuously uploading your video after video and literally feels like no one is watching them.

So, Let’s figure out why this happens???

  • Is it because of the regularly updating YouTube algorithm?
  • Is it because you don’t have any new subscribers yet?
  • Or is it because you’re of videos just are not that great quality?

In My sincere opinion… it could be all because of all 3 of those things.

When I started My YouTube Channelit took me a so long time to grow it.

I was gaining only a few subscribers per week.

And I felt every time whenever I opened my YouTube app on my phone I was very much disappointed by how slow my channel was growing.

But then I finally figured out some things and now I’m gaining around 100 subscribers a month.

I’ve crossed now that 1,000 subscriber mark, as per new YouTube Policy. And now I’m excited, as I’m too close to being channel monetized!

So today in this blog, I’m going to share my personal experience with YouTube, the mistakes I made that hampers my channel growth.

And some YouTube Tips that will help you to get your first 1000 subscribers faster!

Let’s get into it.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH YOUTUBE

That’s obvious, I have my YouTube channel. I uploaded my first video way back in December of 2017.

At the time, I just want not knowing about the real potential of having a successful YouTube that could help me to enhance my blogging carrier as well.

So I was writing my first blog post and then I felt that it would be so much simple & easier to explain everything if I could share in a video format.

And just in this way, my YouTube channel was started.

I also started it with ZERO subscribers just like you.

I really made a ton of video related mistakes when I was just getting started my channel. But truly my first-year experience onYouTube was real hard & rough.

The quality of my videos wasn’t that great. Even my video content ideas weren’t that upto the mark either.

And by the end of 2018, I had only gained 200 subscribers. Oh yeah!! & it took me almost over a year to gain only 300 subscribers.

That’s Madness…

Now, at the time that I’m writing this, I have 1,280 subscribers. Now, I’m getting around new 150 subscribers every month.

And I’m believing that my YouTube channel will grow faster like that only in 2019–20 now because Now, I know what I’m doing and what I wanted to do exactly.

So let’s get into those my Youtube mistakes.

YOUTUBE MISTAKES TO AVOID

To all intents and purposes, I created a YouTube channel to promote my blog posts.

Initially, my vision was not at all to grow my YouTube channel or become a YouTuber.

I just wanted to create videos to promote the side hustles and also that I could be relevant to my blog posts.

But over time, I started enjoying creating my videos. And I got off the track. I shared making videos about almost everything.

And that I could say was my first Youtube mistake…

1. I Started Sharing Videos of All Topics

I didn’t niche down my channel at all. I started talking about workshops, Instagram, entrepreneurship, productivity, working from home, etc.

And then, I got lost!!

That was a huge BIG mistake because it didn’t make people wanted me to subscribe to my Youtube channel.

And in this way, I ended up hurting the YouTube algorithm.

So let me elaborate. Because all the videos on the channel were all over the place, no one knew what will be my upload.

So why the heck would people will subscribe to my channel if they also lost & didn’t know what value they were getting??

Niching down on YouTube is so so so sooo predominant to your Youtube success.

And so, Let’s talk about that more in a bit.

But here’s the actual kicker, something that ended up ruining my youtube channel’s growth.

ACTUALLY YouTube likes to promote “Experts”.

Where I Truly Screwed up Myself to Get my First 1000 Subscribers On YouTube FRE

So… back in October of 2018, I uploaded a video of my first time about my 1st Workshop.

At the time, it was quite innocent in the video.

Little did I know that the YouTube algorithm would pick up that Workshop video and rank it high in search.

Now typically when this happens, you should start creating similar kinds of videos.

But I didn’t! I didn’t know this. And I was just started sharing my experiences with my audience.

So then when I started to niche it down and share more blogging, money-making, Dropshipping and Pinterest videos, YouTube didn’t understand that I wanted to become an expert in something other than my workshop Videos.

And it took some time for my views to start going down on my Workshop video and up in my other videos.

At the end, I’m thankful that my few videos did very well because it helped me gain real views and subscribers.

But when I really look deep into it, I think it affects my youtube channel growth in the niche that I wanted to be known for.

2. I didn’t check my youtube analytics

Analytics can tell you much more about your subscribers, what type of content they are looking for, when’s the right time to upload, what video title format is better working, and off-course, how long your videos people are watching.

No alt text provided for this image

All of these things can truly assist the growth of your youtube channel if you pay good attention to them.

But I didn’t…

I only checked the number of subscribers I was getting and the number of views increasing.

Looking it back, I know that was a huge mistake that hurts my channel growth also affect badly to Get my first 1000 Subscribers On YouTube.

3. I didn’t do anything to promote my channel

So, How Get 1000 Subscribers On YouTube FREE?? 1st of all Nothing is FREE!!! It’s just a Marketing stratgey!! I realise it very late…

Besides telling my Facebook followers that I had launched a blog post, I really didn’t do any paid promotion for my YouTube channel growth.

Now you might be thinking, what sort of promotion you need to do?!

Well, you can share your videos on LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.

Which honestly, I don’t do anything with my LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook. So I obviously didn’t share my videos there.

Also, I stopped adding my vidoes to my blog. And at the time, I wasn’t sharing them on Quora & Pinterest either.

4. I didn’t know YouTube SEO

YouTube is a completly different search engine, just like Google.

Yep. Just like Pinterest and Google.

YouTube has its own algorithm that determines if your Channel will appear in it’s search or not.

So you SHOULD learn YouTube SEO to help get your videos RANKED.

And that’s something imporatnt I never did.

Stay on the blog till the end of this post to learn some simple and easy YouTube SEO tips.

TIPS TO GET YOUR FIRST 1000 SUBSCRIBERS

So, How to Get 1000 Subscribers On YouTube? What Exactly I Did??

Now let’s get to the tips to get 1st 1000 YouTube Susbscribers FREE.

The Top most things you can do to grow your channel are below mentioned-

#1. Upload Videos Consistently

Sometimes I feel like no matter what sort of YouTube resource you landed up on, at the end they are going to tell you to upload videos consistently.

So, let me explain why. The more you vidoes you upload to YouTube, the more YouTube loves you.

Obviously, YouTube wants to keep constantly people on their site. The more people that will their watch ads, the more money that YouTube will make.

And if you are helping YouTube to make More money, they are going to like you much more.

So, ultimately uploading videos consistently on your Youtube does help build your relationship with the YouTube algorithm.

But more than that, when you upload videos consistently on channel, you are creating more and more video content as well.

The more content you post, the better your chances on YouTube at being found.

AND when you schedule your uploads that you stick to, your subscribers know what to really expect from you.

When you reamin consistent, you become trustworthy & reliable to your YT audience.

And they are more likely to subscribe you, if they know properly what they are getting themselves into.

#2. Choose 3 Key Topics to Share

This may seem hard, but believe me,,, it’s far easier than you would think about..

I’ve now niched down with my YouTube Channel Video content twice or you can even thrice.

The first time was when I stopped sharing completely irrelevant topics like GrubHub.

At the time, I was sharing videos about SEO, Entreprenourship, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, blogging, Success, motivation, productivity, and all business ownership stuff.

But then, I decided again to niche down even more. And pick the There (3) topics that I really wanted to become known for.

So I started to only share videos about Earn Extra Money OnlineDropshipping and blogging

Now, I already spoken about all the benefits of niching down the Channel.

Trust me niching down my Channel, has drastically helped to grow my YouTube channel and the reach of my youtube videos.

So I encourage you to choose only 3 topics that you are going to share about. And best stick to it.

#3. Make The Videos Interesting Worth Watch

Ah. This makes huge difference. Have you heard of audience retention ever before?

Basically, it’s how long people see your video & stay on your YouTube video.

Are they watching it for only 30 seconds or 5 Minutes or 10 minutes?

If people are leaving your 10 minute video in only 2 minutes, YouTube is going to check it out like your video isn’t that great.

But if people staying on your video for 7 out of those 10 minutes, YouTube is going to think that you must have really created great content.

So What you will do and how do you get your audience to stay on your video for longer time?

You have to make your videos more interesting off-course!

This comes down to the way you are filming it and the way you need to edit it.

Are can jump in to different scenes, including some good effects, and doing something creatrive unique and different?

Or are you sitting in a chair, talking in front of camera the whole time?

I can’t focus enough how crirical it is to make videos more interesting.

If you need more inspiration, just have a look at some successful YouTubers that you follow and you would notice what they are really doing.

Obviously, they are doing things in a different way. And it might be helpful for you to draw inspiration from such channels.

#4. Create click-worthy YT thumbnails

On YouTube, you get a very small window of opportunity to get click on your videos.

And typically it depends on the title of your video and the thumbnail.

Your thumbnail is the only Image that can encourage people to click and watch your video.

So it needs to be really good!

If you aren’t using a custom thumbnail….. what the heck are you really doing on YouTube?

They aren’t that tough to design. It’s truly so easy & simple to create & upload.

What I would recommend to you doing is to a take a closer look at few popular YouTube Channel’s videos in your niche. Simply try to follow their creativity..

Most of the time, you will see a very high-quality Graphics & text at the top.

For all of the videos, I take an image for the thumbnail. I don’t just like to get a screen capture of me!

OR I do a photoshoot for my thumbnail.

Then I use Canva (a free website) to design my thumbnail.

It doesn’t like to have anything very complicated.

Actually according to me the easier the better.

And when you add text on the image, make sure that it can be readable when the thumbnail is super small.

Most of the time people watch youtube videos on their phones.

So before you finalize your thumbnail, view the graphic image at 25% and see if you can still readable or not.

If you can’t, prefer to modify it!

5. Try (Sometimes) Clickbait

Actually feel clickbait doesn’t work all the time, may create your bad image. But truly, it makes a bad reputation for some reasons, such as….

Eg Headline blogger would say “I was walking down the road and you won’t believe what was happen the next”.

And all happened was that they saw a CROW…:)

Oh my gosh, come on! That’s not at all cool!

But that’s the way you can use clickbait so you get more video clicks.

And then on the top, you need to remember is stand on what you are promising your viewers.

So like you say if you’re going to teach them “Top 5 simple blogging tricks that will blow up their minds” they must be super cool!

So, If I’m using clickbait to my title and my thumbnail, the right content always included in my video!

Just recently I shared a video talking about “how to make $100 per day & How to Make Extra Money From Home Online For Beginners Fast Money Making Ideas”. And the thumbnail looked like this:

I have cluding the text “ Best Way to make $300 From Home” that it would get people to click more on it.

And in the video, I explain the Real Way to Make More Money in Real Sense!

See what I’m getting at here?

Clickbait can be your real friend as long as you stand up to what you are assuring and promising your youtube audience.

6. Upload at popular times

I didn’t believe it, it seems silly to me.

But have you noticed that some YouTubers upload their videos at a very specific time? Like say 2 pm or 5 pm.

They do that for a real reason behind it! The first 24 hours of a new YouTube video are very important.

The views, likes, and engagement that you getting within the first 24 hours are going to determine whether the YouTube algorithm favors your youtube video or not.

So when you upload a video at a time when your audience is more active, you are going to increase your chance of having viewers watch your video as soon as you upload it!

That will help to boost the success of your Channel and that particular video.

Now if you have no idea when the best popular time is? I suggest you can have a look at your YouTube creator studio.

They show you on a real-time basis how many views subscribers you have gotten every hour for the past 48 hours!

But if you don’t have enough data to check it, I notice that 10 am IST, 1 pm IST and 5 pm IST are the best times to upload!

7. Encourage For High Engagement

Have You Ever noticed how YouTubers end their videos by asking you to like their video, subscribe to their YouTube channel, and hit the notification bell?

Some people will even have the Poll and a question of the day and they will ask you to respond to that in the comments section below.

And there’s a damn good reason for this! The more engagement you have on your video… the better it will be!

No alt text provided for this image

The more views, likes, and comments you get on each video, the more YouTube will pay attention to your video.

And if they see that people are clearly enjoying the video, they are more likely to push it out to people.

Also, if you’re trying to get more subscribers, it helps to gain more subscribers.

I mean, that’s obvious to do.

8. Work With YouTube Algorithm

Now, I’ve already shared a lot of ways on how to make YouTube damn happy so that it pushes your video up in their search engine and reaches out to the audience in the suggested section.

But I would like to mention this again because it’s very important.

You should work with the YouTube algorithm. And there are a few things you can to do that will help your videos to perform very well.

Have You Remembered that audience retention rate?

Well, every time you publish a new video you want to get it watched the whole way through.

This will show YouTube that people are watching your youtube video from beginning till the end.

So, now Do you want to improve your video engagement within the first 24 hours?

Well, you can also like your own videos! I like and watch all of my videos to increase engagement.

Also, you need to respond to all comments on your new video, within the first 24 hours. Because every comment you are adding is a new comment in as per YouTube’s algorithm!

Talking more about increasing video engagement….

And when you find that a video is getting more views than normal, ride the YouTube algorithm and create more videos on that topic.

But beyond that, you need to learn the best ways to do the YouTube SEO.

So let’s jump quickly to that.

YOUTUBE SEO

It doesn’t matter what online platform you are on, SEO comes down to your right keywords ONLY.

And there are a few places that you want to include your keywords within your YouTube videos.

But first, we need to talk about keyword research.

Enter…

TubeBuddy

Yeah, TubeBuddy.

I’m so happy that I was introduced to TubeBuddy because it seriously helped me to a lot to improve my YouTube Videos SEO.

With TubeBuddy, you can see how many times keywords are searched, the competition of keywords, and should you really target them or NOT.

So just like Pinterest, for YouTube, you start the keyword research in it’s search bar.

Search for the topic on which you want to make a video and take a look at the most popular searches that appears in the drop-down

No alt text provided for this image

Then when you choose any particular keyword to search, TubeBuddy will also appear at the right-hand side with some stats about that keyword.

It’s pretty easy and simple.

You don’t want to target keywords that are in red color because it will be very difficult for your video to appear in search results.

But the yellow and green rankings will be the right keywords for you to choose.

No alt text provided for this image

And because you’re at the right track, also have a look at videos that appear and what keywords they include in their titles.

Obviously, if they are visible in the searches, they are doing performing great.

Where To Add Keywords

Once you find your right keywords to target, you should make sure that you are adding them to the appropriate places.

Such as Your video’s title, description, tags, and within the video’s content.

You need to add all the necessary keywords that you want your video to rank for in the video’s title and description.

You have a maximum of 500 characters to include in tags sections on each video.

This is basically to tell YouTube what your video is all about. Add the keywords you think it should appear in the Tags Section.

No alt text provided for this image

Hence, make sure you are always including the tags in Videos!

And again, you can use this best YouTube Tool TubeBuddy to help you figure out the right tags to add.

Then at last include all the keywords within your video. Yes!!! YouTube can hear what you say in your video.

So, make sure that you need to actually speak your keywords in your YouTube video content. Crazy, right?

Well, YouTube can use your title and compare it to what you are actually speaking to make sure you are not lying ot might be you are not talking something completely unlinked.

So this is very important and makes sense!
