???Generative AI does not exist in isolation. The impressive advancements in generative AI that we have witnessed over the past year have been made possible by other technological innovations. For example, cloud computing broadens access to AI technologies, while 5G enhances the potential of generative AI by providing real-time analytics and processing capabilities. Moreover, the Internet of Things offers a rich source of data that generative AI models can utilize for their development.
???In other words, many technologies have contributed to fostering and influencing generative AI. But what about the reverse effect? How might generative AI in turn accelerate other technologies? Here are some predictions:
???Generative AI in the Metaverse Whether you support the concept of the metaverse or not, it is undeniable that the idea of immersive digital spaces where we can work, play, socialize, shop, and learn is compelling.
???Generative AI could enhance Metaverse environments by enabling the automatic creation of content. Imagine playing a VR game where unique characters and challenges are created just for you in real time. Generative AI could enable such features in the metaverse, thus creating profound, personalized experiences for players and other users of the metaverse.
???Just as most companies today have a website and a social media presence, in the future many might have some form of metaverse presence – be it a virtual shop, an immersive brand experience, or a virtual campus for employees to visit.
??? Generative AI could prove to be a valuable tool for any company wanting to establish a presence in the metaverse. After all, generative AI solutions can not only create content but also write computer code, which means that companies could design their own immersive 3D metaverse spaces simply by describing their desires to a generative AI tool.
???Get Ready for AI-Equipped Robots Generative AI will also influence robotics by enabling the development of robots that can dynamically learn and adapt to new tasks. This will help create more autonomous robots and expand the range of tasks that robots can undertake. For example, the robots of the future will not only perform impressive physical feats but also engage in natural conversations with humans and make complex decisions.
