How To Generate Individual HTML Report in OWASP ZAP

When scanning multiple APIs simultaneously in OWASP ZAP, many users find it challenging to generate individual API reports. Typically, OWASP ZAP does not offer a separate option to generate reports for single APIs after completing the scan. The default report generation option provides a comprehensive report that includes issues from all the scanned APIs. To obtain a report for a specific API, follow the steps below, and you will find your solution.

Step 1- Create context

The first step is to create a new context, specifying your desired API. For that Right click on the API and click Include in Context and select new Context

Then Click OK in the Next Screen

Step 2 - Generate Report

After creating context Click on Report >> Generate Report

Select the corresponding context in the Generate report window

Then click the Generate Report button.

Now, the report for the desired API will be generated.

Step -3 Troubleshoot

When you click the "Generate Report" button, you may possibly receive an error message, as shown in the screenshot below.

This issue is caused when you create the context and save the APIs with query parameters. Saving the context with query parameters can introduce confusion for OWASP Zap, making it unable to recognize your API during report generation.

To resolve this issue, double-click on the context you have created. Select the corresponding context and click the Modify button.

Now, you can view an API URL edit window as shown below.

Now Remove the query parameters from the url like below?

After that click Click Modify>>OK .

Now, you can repeat Step 2 to generate individual reports.
