How Gen-Z is Reshaping College

Since 2019 most new jobs have been offering both low wages and limited hours. Because of this nearly half of American workers are living on less than $18,000 a year. As Gen Zers are reaching adulthood the reality of this is causing many to look for a better future outcome. 82% of Gen Zers believe that attaining a college degree may be the best route. Unlike their predecessors, Gen Z is focusing on college sooner. Nearly half of high school students have already earned college credit and summer school enrollment is up by more than 15% in just 20 years as students are focusing on school rather than summer gigs. The rising student debt has also encouraged Gen Z students to consider future outcomes such as employability before selecting a major and 44% are starting their job search before they reach senior year. 4 年That last part - about being the most entrepreneurial generation - will hopefully translate well, because the jobs of the present and future are entrepreneurial in nature now, much as our schools still largely teach us how to be employees.
