How the Garment&Textile Company Faslink Leverages the Benefits of 3D Technology
Faslink, also known as Fashion Connection Joint Stock Company (Faslink JSC.), is the merger between Xuan Phuong Nam Garment Joint Stock Company and An Thuan Phat Textile Garment Company in Vietnam. That is, the company provides solutions for both textiles made out of green materials and uniform design&production. As a company that always pursues advanced garment technology, Faslink started its cooperation with Style3D. This new digitalized business model of Faslink provides better solutions for different scenarios.
Realizing how convenient it is to import pattern files to Style3D Studio and turn them into 3D prototypes, Faslink’s staff quickly got on board and started to use it as a major tool for prototyping at the R&D stage. Once patterns are prepared, they can edit and sew them, and simulate the virtual garments on 3D avatars within hours. This is also an advantage of 3D prototyping that designers can design clothes while directly monitoring their fitting to the silhouette of a specific person without his or her physical presence. Equipped with 3D technology, the product development is more efficient and flexible.
After the 3D fashion?is developed, Faslink is able to gather real-time feedback from their targeted clients, who may place an order later, and modify the samples to meet their requirements all online. The clients can review a style in multiple colorways and fabrics and leave a comment on Style3D Cloud about what to adjust. Before the final PPS, all sample versions are created and modified digitally, minimizing lead times and costs of producing physical samples. Moreover, since Faslink and the clients are e-connected, then from the very beginning of R&D to the approval of final PPS, their interactions are all done on Style3D Cloud, a SaaS platform.
Besides facilitating the internal design process and the interaction with existing clients, Faslink also utilizes digital assets in Style3D to attract potential customers in the exhibition scenario. Garment product display is done in multiple ways, ranging from 3D sample pictures, animations to VR showrooms. For fabric products, Style3D helps the company scan real fabrics, process these fabrics in Style3D Fabric, and upload them to Style3D Cloud to build their own fabric library online. From then on, every exhibition applies the methods combining online digital assets with offline real fabrics. A QR code attached to a real fabric leads viewers to the online market for more fabrics and lets them request sample delivery with only one click.
