How a gamble led to an everyday staycation...

3 months ago, in the middle of a pandemic, my family and I decided to move countries to a place we had never visited, and quite frankly, couldn’t visit. We took a gamble, my husband changed jobs, I moved my company and we uprooted our children’s lives.

Now here we are just 3 months on, reflecting on whether this was a good move for us as a family and there couldn’t be a better month for me to talk about it as Brand Champions have been focused on travel.  

For those of you that haven’t had the chance to visit Jersey, like me previously, I’ll start by telling you it’s one of the best kept secret corridors I’ve ever known! There are 30 bays for a start and, of the ones I’ve visited so far, it’s hard to pick a favourite.  

Then there’s the amazing food that seems to be on offer from the smallest of beach huts (Kismet Cabana) to the fine dining options (Atlantic Hotel - I’m looking at you).

For the history lovers; there’s the tunnels and bunkers to explore and for the thrill seekers; there is every water sport imaginable, but I guess the best bit for me, as I’m not actually on holiday (even though some days I feel like I am!) is how welcoming everyone has been, sharing their tips, connections and making us feel at home so quickly on this beautiful island. A huge shout out also goes to Ceri Tinley for getting me out running which I have to say is much easier when you have the incredible views of the Jersey shoreline.

Was it a good idea? Absolutely! Feeling like you’re on holiday every day, whilst watching your business and family thrive, in a place you can’t wait for your friends to visit and discover with you cannot be beaten.
