How to format a SD card

As We know that to use a car recorder, normally we need an SD card, and before we use it, we have to format this SD card,so how to format a SD card :

Insert the SD Card: Insert your high-capacity SD card into your computer’s SD card slot or use an SD card adapter if your computer does not have a slot.

  1. Open File Explorer: You can do this by pressing" Windows + E" on your keyboard or by clicking on the File Explorer icon on your taskbar.
  2. Locate the SD Card: In File Explorer, navigate to "This PC" or "My Computer," and you should see your SD card listed under "Devices and drives." It may be labeled as a "Removable Disk" with a drive letter.
  3. Right-Click the SD Card: Right-click on your SD card's icon and select "Format" from the context menu.
  4. Choose File System: A new window will appear. Here, you'll need to choose a file system.
  5. For SD cards with a capacity of 128GB to 256GB, you're likely going to use either FAT32 or exFAT. The exFAT file system is generally recommended for SD cards over 32GB because it supports larger files and storage capacities.
  6. Note: The standard Windows format tool doesn't always allow FAT32 formatting for cards above 32GB, but exFAT should be available and is suitable for most uses.
  7. Allocation Unit Size: Leave this as the default option unless you have a specific need to change it.
  8. Volume Label: You can give your SD card a name by entering it in the "Volume Label" field. This step is optional.
  9. Format Options: Check the "Quick Format" option. A Quick Format is usually sufficient and much faster than a full format. A full format will check the card for bad sectors, which takes more time.
  10. Start the Format Process: Click on the "Start" button to begin formatting. A warning will pop up reminding you that all data on the SD card will be erased. If you've backed up your data and are ready to proceed, click "OK."
  11. Completion: Once the format process is complete, you'll get a notification. Click "OK," and your high-capacity SD card is now formatted and ready to use.
