In ancient cultures, the ? Rainmaker was highly regarded because he or she was the one with the magical powers to bring the rain to nourish the crops to feed the people.
?Without the rain, the people would weaken, die, or have to move elsewhere.
Today, Rainmakers are individuals who have an almost uncanny ability to generate new business, attract clients, gather referrals, or otherwise help their businesses succeed. In other words, they know how to generate cash on demand. Almost magically.
In Business, CASH Is ALWAYS King
Irrespective of the stage your business is in. And irrespective of the size of your business. Cash is always king.
Clients bring cash into the business. No clients, no cash. No cash and your business will wither and die. Just like the crops.
YOU and I, the business owners, are the Rainmakers. And whether we're comfortable with it or not, we have to embrace our Rainmaker role.?And wear the cloak with pride.
The cool thing is, once you get the hang of it, being the Rainmaker becomes the most fun, adventurous and rewarding role you’ll have in your business.
Four Common Beliefs That Might Be Preventing You From Becoming A Badass Rainmaker
#1: Thinking That Rainmaking Is Voodoo
As I've mentioned above, business rainmaking is based on the basic principles of human interaction that drive everything in our lives.
When you embrace your Rainmaker role, you make it your mission to connect with your ideal prospects in a heart-centred way that makes them feel safe enough to share their innermost problems with you.
And when you can solve their problems in a way that builds their trust and creates a positive emotional experience for them, you will change their lives.
And when you change theirs, you will change yours… tenfold.
#2: Your Are Born A Rainmaker
This is not true. Rainmaking is not something you’re born with, it’s a learned skill.
Even in ancient cultures, you weren't born with it. It was a transferable magical power. You were selected and then you had to complete the tribe’s rainmaker initiation training to become the rainmaker.?
#3: Rainmaker Initiation Training Is A Baptism Of Fire
The day you and I decided to start our own business, we handpicked ourselves to become the Rainmaker. But then we delay starting our training because we think that it is going to be too complicated. Or too time-consuming. Or too expensive. Or that it will be a baptism of fire.
The reality is that the initiation is actually quite simple. Even in ancient cultures, Not always easy. But definitely always simple.
#4: Rainmakers Have To Sell Themselves
Your objective as Rainmaker is quite simple: Get your dream clients to like you, trust you, and buy YOU. And the emphasis on buying YOU is VERY important.
When your product is expertise people buy you BEFORE they buy whatever it is that you are selling.
Even though Rainmaking is about getting people to buy YOU before they buy your services Rainmaking is NOT about selling yourself. That’s an old cliche. that only applies if you're in the sex trade, or if you’re a salesy leg humper on social media.
First selling themselves is something you’ll never ever see a rainmaker do.
In an expert-based business, you cannot sell yourself to others. You have to get others to buy you for their reasons and on their terms. In other words, rainmakers must be able to influence. And the really good ones, don’t even influence. They inspire.
Rainmaking Is Not A Fad. It's Based On Timeless Principles
One of the core values that Rainmakers uphold is that they value their business relationships as much as they do their personal relationships. Their credo is "Relationship first. Doing business, second."
Doing that is easier said than done. Especially in the crowded and noisy online space. And especially when you desperately need that sale to make ends meet.
Fortunately, there are three time-tested first principles that Rainmakers use to build long-lasting and mutually beneficial business relationships.

Principle #1: Be likeable
Smile, mind your manners and be respectful of others. People don’t buy from jackasses.
Principle #2. Connect in an authentic way.
This is not the same as building rapport which can be manipulative and emotionally draining. Both for you and your prospect.
Connecting is about initiating and building real human connections with the purpose of first providing real value to the other person.
The more connected people feel to you, the more comfortable they will feel sharing information that will reveal their innermost problems.
Principle #3: Solve the problems you’ve uncovered
One of the immutable laws of the universe is that when you give to others, you are rewarded tenfold.
Problem solvers are the champions of the business world. The motto they live by is, “By helping others get what they want, I will get what I want.

2 年Wow never thought of myself as a rainmaker. Love the concept and the idea to envision myself as such. Relationships are so important to me which is probably why I struggle with the sale. But as you shared you have to have cash...no cash no business. Thanks Di-Di!
