How Flow presses the buttons of Dynamics 365

Sorry for the cheesy title, but I absolutely love buttons with Microsoft Flow. If you have never heard of them before, Buttons let you start an automated flow to do multiple things with a tap of a button.

Say you wake up in the morning feeling pretty sick. As a responsible adult you can't just lie and go back to sleep, you have to make sure your team and colleagues know. You have to make sure your calendar is updated.

With flow, you can do this with a tap of a button. Press a button in the Flow App, and in the background, Flow will email your colleagues and manager, update your calendar and send you a notification that its done all that.

Flow can talk to over 150 different apps and services - include dynamics 365.

Here are some examples of how I use it with Dynamics 365.

Example 1 - Block calendar to work on an opportunity

You have been trying to find a colleague to discuss an opportunity. You run into them - and they are available to spend some time to discuss this with you. You press a button, which blocks out your calendar, and updates the opportunity in Dynamics 365 letting other team members know you are working on this opportunity.

Example 2 - Track Leads from Twitter based on a keyword

Say you are attending a conference, where they have a dedicated hashtag for the session you are attending. You can click a button, enter the keyword, and it will create leads for everyone tweeting about the keyword.

Example 3 - Save a lead in multiple systems, and create a follow up task

Finally - say you meet a potential lead. You want to quickly take their information. You can do that with a button, which in turn saves it into Dynamics, it synchronizes it with your legacy contacts database, and creates a follow up task for you to call them next day.

I recorded a short 5 minute showing all of this in action

If you love automation and efficiency - there's an infinite world of possibilities out there for you.
