How To Find Your Flow In A Social Impact Business

Whether you’re looking to start a new social impact business that aligns to your purpose, or you’re scaling in an existing business to make a bigger impact, I’m 99.9% certain you’re focusing what you need to do to get there, rather than who you need to be to get there.

And yet success is 80% of who you “be”, and only 20% of what you “do”. So you need to focus on the inner being alignment first before you waste your time doing anything else.

Otherwise you’ll do a whole lot of stuff and not get the results you’re looking for. You’ll struggle to make the big impact you want. You’ll struggle with the clarity of direction. You’ll not get the best results from great coaching programs that others have succeeded in because you’re out of alignment with the deepest core of your being and what it’s really here to be and do.

You’ll work way to hard on tactics like Facebook marketing, sales funnel building, how to blog, or making videos, branding, niching, writing your sales message, lead generation, servicing one on one clients with no leverage, speaking on stage, increasing your audience, building your tribe….. Getting okay results, but not the great results you were looking for and know you are capable of generating.

You have flow when you have that 100% alignment with your inner being on a number of levels and through a number of expressions. So if you’re out of flow, you’re out of alignment somewhere. Getting realigned may only take one or two tweaks and pivots, or it may require a complete overhaul to find your flow. You just need a formula to reflect on where the out-alignment is and how to get back in the zone.

The state of flow unleashes your higher potential to make a difference, it taps you into your manifesting power and builds momentum so you do get the results you’re looking for. Flow is a state where you’re contented and at peace with what is happening right now, and excited or hopeful for what is going to show up in the future because of the path you’re on.

When you’re in flow, all your limitations cease to exist in that moment. In their place, is a clear path forward that leads to you making the impact you want to be making, and reaching your fullest potential.

We all actually move in and out of flow, and in an out of alignment all the time. Like in certain moments of deep mental or physical concentration. Or when you’re on role with the Universe, and everything is going your way. The challenge is, most of us can’t control flow and our mind keeps kicking in to second guess our direction. Or the mind comes up with a whole lot of other ideas that could lead us off in the wrong direction.

When we get out of alignment or out of flow, we often have no idea how to get back into it. Most people make the mistake of dramatically shifting and changing their branding, their niche topic, their niche, their positioning, their website, when they may only have needed to check in with the Inner Being and made a pivot to get everything in flow again.

How Do You Get Into Flow As A Social Entrepreneur?

The first step to mastering flow is to first understand what keeps you out of flow.

Flow is actually a natural state for the human mind to be in. Even ancient Buddhist, Hindu, and Taoist texts from thousands of years ago talk about the state of flow, or of “doing without doing”. Which is what aligning to your inner being and what I call your Soul’s Mission Blueprint. This is the doing without doing part of manifestation and flow.

And yet so much of the way we conduct business and live our modern life block our flow. Like self-doubt and second guessing ourselves. Overthinking every decision. Looking for answers in our mind. Doing doing doing without Being Being Being first.

Trying to figure things out on our own when we need outside insight. Trying things because it sounds good or it promises the outcome we want…Information overload from all the great sounding offers promising the moon… All while we ignore the clues and impulses that are coming up from your Soul, your Inner Being, as to how it want’s so show up and evolve next…

Follow The Clues To Find Your Flow

The more we put off listening to and deciphering those clues, then applying them to our business, or business model if you’re still incubating your business idea, the more we struggle to get the results we’re looking for until one day it could all dry up.

Can you imagine how much productivity, how much time, and how many opportunities are being wasted, just because you’re not in flow and you’re out of alignment with your Inner Beings next level of evolution?

And can you imagine what could be achieved, if you got into 100% alignment and double the time you spend in flow?

You can see now how the majority of obstacles to flow all happen in our minds – which in turn scrambles our energetic frequency so it starts to manifest the wrong kind of results, like the wrong types of clients showing up in your business, unqualified leads, not enough leads, lacking those big numbers buying your programs, low conversion rates.

This can be a huge problem for your goals and your productivity. And if you’re trying to work with the Law of Attraction, it can be a tremendous issue as well.

Why?

Because when you’re not in flow, and when you’re not vibrating at the right frequency – then the high vibrational outcomes, people, and opportunities that would otherwise be attracted to you, instead get repelled. Your energy is literally sending away that which you want.

Now on the flip side, when you are in flow – you’ll find that all the things you want in life tend to rush towards you with virtually no conscious effort. You’ll also find yourself channeling greater creativity, intuition and joy than ever before. Think of it as a big block that has been holding back your true potential finally been shattered.

That’s why people in flow often find themselves achieving amazing things, meeting the right people, and experiencing wonderful breakthroughs and coincidences. Often without even realizing how they’re doing it.

To help you see what’s possible with flow, I want to share with you a deeply personal experience from my own life – something I’m embarrassed to talk about.

I owned an organic day spa that became wildly successful within its first year, then it all started to go south as I struggled with scaling from a ? of a million dollars turnover in one year, to my goal of half a million, while leveraging myself out of the business a bit more.

I became very stressed, overworked and I was ignoring the calling inside of me to take the business in a new direction. Now remember how I just mentioned that being out of flow also causes you to vibrate at the wrong frequency – and then manifest the wrong things?

All the time a good friend of mine was telling me that I must be out of alignment because I’m vibing so much stress. I wasn’t in flow. I needed to check in with my Inner Being. I ignored him thinking if I just do this new advertising campaign, if I just hire someone else to market the business, if I just did more open days, if I just did more email specials, if I just kept doing…. Kept working hard, everything would work out…

But it didn’t. I was diagnosed with final stages melanoma cancer, which was my second visit to cancer. I had leukemia 15 years prior.

What A Social Impact Business Looks Like With No Alignment & Flow

I took on a business partner to help while I recovered from being ill, as I was tied and stressed unable to think straight at time. Overhead went up, sales went down, profit disappeared, my relationship with my business partner deteriorated. She stole assets from the business, we got into uncontrollable debt and became insolvent. I had no choice but to file for bankruptcy because a debtor was going to bankrupt me if I didn’t do it myself.

Devastated, humiliated, with less than no money… a mountain of debt and my life savings completely emptied… I made a promise to myself that I would not start another business unless it was 100% in alignment with my Inner Being – who I am and who I’m here to be, how I’m supposed to show up in the world.

I finally turned to my Inner Being and started the process of getting out of my head, listening instead to all the clues my soul had been dropping me as to…

1. Who I was being called to be;
2. How I was being called to show up;
3. Who I was here to serve;
4. How I was here to serve them;
5. What outcomes my work was here to help achieve;
6. What work would make my being vibe and feel that sense of fulfillment of purpose;
7. What I was really really here to do…
8. and how to monetize it so I wasn’t just on my right mission, I was earning the right money.

Why Bad Stuff Happens To Good People Despite What You Do?

Now when I look back, I understand why this all happened to me. I didn’t pivot when my Inner Being called me to my next level of evolution in my purpose… I made changing what I was doing more important than changing who I was being… And I suffered and struggled because of it.

Because you see, the real key to gaining the alignment and flow, then maintaining it, is simply to become more of who you’re here to be and how you’re here to serve each time you’re called to evolve to the next level of your purpose…

This is where what you want begins to come to you with ease and grace because you have the support of the Manifesting Being living inside of you who has a mission to fulfil.

Keeping pace with my purpose evolution, constantly readjusting my alignment to the next level purpose every step of the way, is what has allowed me to become a multi best selling author, have a global transformation business travelling the world having fun and speaking, winning awards, becoming a member and mentor for the Evolutionary Business Council, leading retreats in South Africa, Australia, Costa Rica, Spain. In fact now owning land as part of a big Retreat Center community we’re building here in Costa Rica called Vista Mundo. And of course staying cancer free with vibrant health for over 12 years now.

My path to mastering flow was a pretty long and painful one and didn’t start to happen until I aligned everything I did in my business, the business idea, the business model to what my Soul’s Mission Blueprint was on who I was here to be, how I was here to show up in the world… How my inner being wanted to express itself, to what cause it wants to apply my natural skills and talents, and who I was here to serve to achieve that cause.
